1. Page: Upper or Lower Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend Tour

Explore the beauty of the Upper Antelope Canyon or Lower Antelope Canyon, and Horseshoe Bend with a Navajo guide on this tour from Page. Enrich your tour with a visit to the impressive Glen Canyon Dam Overlook. Following pickup by a spacious, air-conditioned van, head to Upper or Lower Antelope Canyon (depending on the option booked). The canyon is called Ts bighnln, meaning "the place where water runs through rocks" by the Navajo People.  Once there, enjoy a 1.5-hour walk. Keep an eye out for the beams of direct sunlight radiating down from openings at the top of the canyon. This happens most in the summer because they require the sun to be high in the sky. Continue your tour to Horseshoe Bend (40 minutes), a superb example of an entrenched meander that was slowly cut by the Colorado River over millions of years. Then, visit the Glen Canyon Dam Overlook for 30 minutes. Marvel at a canyon that stretches from the Lees Ferry in Arizona to the Orange Cliffs of southern Utah. Admire this breathtaking area that encompasses scenic vistas, geologic wonders, and a vast panorama of human history. Return to your pickup point in Page at the end of your tour.

Overall rating

It was a very early pick-up time, 6am and had to be at the pickup point around 5:45. Long hours "sitting down" in a bus to get and come back (4.5 hours each way). Antelope Canyon X is the best of lower and higher because it has both features of the individual ones. Do not bring a lunch, there is a rest stop. There, a place called Bee's or something like that, they have hot a very nice homemade hot and cold prepared food (mini buffet) and al sorts of healthy options. Worth it - made my own salad with plenty of choice in veggies, cheeses, dressings, protein, etc.
