  • Head to Tam Ky City across Cua Dai Bridge
  • Visit Ky Anh guerrilla warfare tunnel complex
  • Wander deep into the colorful alleyways, passing an abundance of murals in Tam Thanh village
Full description
Get picked up in Hoi An and head to Tam Ky city across Cua Dai Bridge. With the length of approximately 0.8 miles, the bridge is an important construction, emblematic of the coming development of the district. Along this road, you'll have the chance to discover dazzling, remote, largely-unpopulated beaches, punctuated with occasional fishing communities, and mile after mile of scenic farms and villages. Continue to visit the almost 20-mile Ky Anh guerrilla warfare tunnel complex, which is now a tourist destination in Quang Nam province. You will have between 30 and 45 minutes to visit the Vietnamese Heroic Mother Statue. The statue pays tribute to the "Heroic Mother", Nguyen Thi Thu, who was from Dien Thang Commune, and whose 11 children and grandchildren all died in Vietnam's liberation fight. After that, head to Tam Thanh Mural Village. A large group of volunteers from Korea, following the project “Art for a Better Community”, utilized their artistic talents to transform the Tam Thanh fishing village in Quang Nam into the first mural village of Vietnam. Transfer back to Hoi An.

Our guide was exceptionally friendly and sweet! It was just us who booked the tour on this day so it was private. The car was very comfortable and spacious, there was also complimentary water provided. There was a nice small walking tour through some of the murals in the village. The only thing I was a bit disappointed with is that we did not have an opportunity to see all the murals in the village. This is because we were led back into the car which quickly drove past the second section of murals and some painted basket boats. And by the time we realized, it was too late to feel comfortable asking to turn back. It would have been nice to have more time to walk around, explore and take a closer look.

We were picked up at the hotel on time. The tour leads to the traditional fishing village. This is not a sight like the marble mountains or My son - but there are no tourists there and you can see a lot of the original Vietnam. Overall, it's a tour away from tourism. But it is very worth seeing, also the relics from the Vietnam War. Our guide “Snow” told us a lot and gave some insider tips for Hoi An.
