Hoi An: Night Food Tasting Tour

1. Hoi An: Night Food Tasting Tour

Work your way around Hoi An’s Old Town after the sun has gone down. On this small-group tour with a maximum of 12 people, you will be joined by a local leader who will give you an insight into the food scene in Hoi An. Enjoy a culinary adventure away from the Midday heat. Meet your guide at sunset for a walk through the local cafes, food stalls, markets, and restaurants at the heart of the historic city. Go to a bakery that has been making the town’s tastiest banh mi (a type of sandwich) for over 20 years, using fresh local ingredients. Next, join the locals at a small café to try the hot and crunchy banh can crackers, served with quails eggs, pork, and a tasty salad. Continue into the heart of Vietnamese cuisine as you head straight for some favorite local eating spots. Your knowledgeable local guide will walk you through the colorful array of ingredients, explaining to you the most popular dishes in Hoi An and the significance of these foods to the traditional culture of central Vietnam. Dig even deeper into the local food scene, passing through a maze of tiny alleys to emerge at a favorite (secret) restaurant in Hoi An, where you’ll sample the Hoi An’s specialties: Cao Lau noodles with pork and a wonderful sesame and peanut hot milk. There is more food to come. Your Hoi An food tour continues with more bites, based on what’s available that day. Be sure to save space though, as you still have yet another treat in store for you, dessert and a local beer.

Evening Food Tour with a Local Home Dinner

2. Evening Food Tour with a Local Home Dinner

Head off the usual tourist trail and straight into foodie heaven. A local food-loving guide will uncover hidden treasures and snacks favored by locals, such as white rose bread. Next, go to a Hoi An local market and wander around the food stalls, where you might find amazing cao lau noodle and much more besides. Next, we will taste Vietnamese coffee, also visit a local house to have a dinner with local family. Then, head to the heart of Hoi An's ancient town, sit on an authentic boat on Hoai River and in the evening and release flower garlands like a local, and play games such as bingo or Dap Nieu (a game involving breaking clay pots with wooden clubs while blindfolded). After the tour, you have the option to return to your hotel, or head to Pub Street, where you can experience Hoi An bar life. It was beyond wonderful! I’m sorry I have forgotten our lovely guides name - has a little one at home - she took us to the greatest hole in the wall places! Food was beyond amazing - even for me being a vegetarian- loved everything!!!! All the food places we went to was on my “ bucket” list

it was a really good Tour with our guide Ham He explained many things to the food and to the life in Vietnam. Many thanks and an extra star to Ham for the wonderful tour

Our quite Nam made a very enjoyable tour, all the food offered was delicious and was often not somewhere we would normally have chosen to eat. And none of us got sick.

The food was super delicious and our guide Tran told us a lot about the food and the country during the tour. We were very satisfied.

Really good guide. She had some fun stories of the places and the food was really good.
