Full description

Depart from your Ho Chi Minh City hotel and head to the Mekong Delta by minivan or bus. Pass by green rice fields before arriving at the beautiful rural My Tho. Your morning trip continues from here by motorized boat on the Tien River to the Qui (Tortoise islet). On the way, see the fishing port, boat-building workshops, and the Dragon, Phoenix and Unicorn Islet. Walk into the village, where you can visit a local fruit garden and enjoy the tropical fruit while listening to Southern Vietnamese folk music performed by islanders. Here you can also join the local people's daily activities and take in the atmosphere of this beautiful natural countryside. Visit the bee house, and take the picture of the pythons. Lunch will be served right in the heart of the orchard garden. The boat cruise will lead you through the Bao Dinh canal, entering Ben Tre province — the land of coconuts. Here you'll see a typical agricultural model called "Garden – Pond – Cage” before visiting the coconut candy-making shop. Next, enjoy a rowing boat trip on the small canal, fully covered by the shadow of the water coconut trees. After your boat ride, take a bike ride around the island before returning to the bus.

Brilliant day trip ! There was lots to see & do throughout the day. We covered everything in the itinerary. The tour guide was really funny and knowledgeable. Spoke really good English. Learnt lots about Vietnamese culture. Excellent value for money compared to other small group day trips that we undertook throughout Vietnam. You won't regret booking this experience!!!

Being a tour guide myself, I thought that viet wasn’t very engaging. No way would I tell my guests to wander around for 30 to 40 mins on 3 occasions on there own. Tell me what I’m looking at! Tell me the history, the culture. Don’t leave us at the first opportunity .

The tour's been an amazing experience and completely exceeded my expectations! Hotel pickup was on time with a comfortable minivan. Phu has been a brilliant tour guide. Nice and knowledgable. During the 1.5-hour drive to the Mekong Delta, he's provided us with details on the history of the region and the traditions of the local people. The first stop was the Vinh Trang Pagoda in My Tho. It was interesting to see the Chinese influence. Next, we've boarded a motorboat from My Tho Marina and visited a number of islands in the Mekong. We've visited a coconut candy workshop, got to hold a python and tasted some honey tea. For lunch, we took a smaller boat to the restaurant where we were served a wide variety of delicious Vietnamese dishes. The restaurant was surrounded by a garden with fruit trees and a farm with crocodiles, snakes, fishes, etc. After lunch we sampled tropical fruits and went for a rowing boat ride in the canals. Even received some fresh coconut water at the end. A must!
