Full description

After pick-up from your centrally located hotel you will be driven to Central Pier. Board the speedboat and start your journey towards the Mekong Delta. Enjoy fresh tropical fruits and mineral water on board, and a light breakfast will be served on the morning tour. On the way, you will enjoy the fresh air and observe the pure beautiful landscape. Your guide will explain to you the daily life of local people who live along the riverbanks. Disembark the speedboat to visit a shrimp farm where you will learn how the locals raise shrimps. Afterwards, cycle along peaceful paths between villages to discover the lifestyle in the rural Mekong area. You will pass by an ancient house, and visit a Vietnamese family who make traditional rice wine. Go to a local morning market and visit a beautiful pagoda built in the middle of the 19th century. Then visit Cao Dai Temple and learn more about this religion. Afterwards, get back on your bike to cycle along small paths through the vast paddy fields. Finally, visit a local family to see how they make tofu and enjoy a light home-cooked meal. Return to Ho Chi Minh City, where you will be dropped off at your hotel, or at the pier.

Very authentic and off the beaten path

If you don't want the tourist traps and want something very authentic, do this tour. The speedboat gets you up the delta in 1 hour and is a great way to see various parts of the city (you also get some nice fruit and pastries on the way). We got to meet the 'tofu' family and 'rice wine' family. What a great experience!

Our guide Vien (Danny) was very friendly. He picked us up at the hotel and we went to the boat. This is a tour away from masstourism, where you really get to see the farmers and their work in the mekong delta. All the People are so nice and it puts a smile on each facs if you greet them in vietnamese. We were on the tour for around 4.5 hours and did not see one other tourist group. If you are looking to see more then just the tourist-pathes, this is perfect. Would definately recommend it!

Leider ist am Tag des Ausfluges mein Partner krank geworden. War aber kein Problem...fühlte mich gut aufgehoben. Es war eine kleine Gruppe, die viel Spaß miteinander hatte und sehr viel über Land und Leute erfahren hat. Die Leihräder waren prima "in-Schuss" und der vietnamesische Strohhut hat die tolle Radeltour abgerundet. jederzeit Jedem zu empfehlen.
