What people are saying about Heraklion Regional Unit

My husband and I decided to do this cooking class as a part of our honeymoon trip. Though we did not realize it originally, it was a private cooking class just for us! It started off with a tour of the village and some history about the traditional Cretan way of life. The food we made was all amazing and tasted fresh, we just made so much it was hard to eat everything! Our guide was amazing, very knowledgeable, patient, and made the whole experience very enjoyable. To top it off, we got to eat our creations out on the patio with an amazing view of Heraklion and the sea. We absolutely enjoyed our day and highly recommend this activity for anyone looking to learn a little more about Cretan food and history!

We arrived to be greeted by Mary, a wonderful woman, she was so kind, patient and answered everything that we wanted to know about the beautiful village we were exploring. Mary really knew her stuff! She speaks excellent English and taught us some common sayings in greek also! we just had such a wonderful experience. The village itself was beautiful, and we particularly enjoyed the little church, the mosaic workshop, the museum and the visits from the village kitties (cats) while we ate our lunch. The cooking lesson was absolutely excellent and we will 100% be trying the dishes at home! Thank you so much for a wonderful day trip!

This was an excellent activity. I signed up for a cooking lesson last minute and everything was great. The property is so charming, made to look like an old Cretan village. Mary gave a fantastic tour and also a great cooking lesson. I was the only one who signed up that day so it was basically a private lesson for myself. The dishes were simple to make and very tasty. We made tzatziki, stuffed vegetable with rice, grape leaves and a pastry desert. They also had a demonstration of two other meat dishes. Then I got to eat everything overlooking Crete. Such a great experience, would definitely recommend!

This was a blend of museum tour, cooking class, and excellent dining experience. Everyone was so welcoming and kind. The food was unbelievable! Would absolutely recommend.

Highly recommended, great course, delicious food, nice people!
