Nuuksio National Park is a lovely wilderness area with pristine forests, lakes with visitor accommodations for parking, picnics. Mikael is an academic now guide with much to tell about locale and accomplished hiker with much knowledge of the area so he can tailor the trekking to your needs. Loved our day with Mikael in Nuuksio! Welcome break from the city.

We had an absolutely fantastic guided tour with Mikhail through the Nuuksio National Park. He met us outside Helsinki train station, helped us to buy the train and bus tickets and got us to the park quickly and efficiently. The walk through the snow covered park was absolutely breath taking and one we will remember for the rest of our lives. Mikhail paced the walk perfectly to our stamina levels and even brought a snack to share. He patiently waited for us to take as many photos as we wanted to, the scenery was so beautiful we couldn’t stop taking pictures. Mikhail also expertly pointed out animal tracks in the snow, provided a lot of really interesting information about the local wildlife and landscape as well as life in Finland in general. He clearly knows the area well and was able to explain for example, that we would have taken a different route, if weather conditions had been different. We would never have attempted this trip on our own, and it was excellent value.

The park was delightful, especially how we experienced it in early December with light snow, frozen lakes and scenery to die for. But, the best part was Mikhail, the guide. I left a lot richer in knowledge about the surroundings, a low more aware of animal footprints and with lovely conversation throughout the hike. Both Nuuksio and Sipoonkorpi national parks were wonderful experiences and I truly made lifelong memories walking through them.
