Full description

Immerse yourself in Sri Lankan culture on this tour of the plantations and surrounding wilderness. Hop aboard a tuk-tuk with a local guide to learn of the island’s long history with tea merchants. Visit the plantation village to experience life as a local, and ascend the mountains for stunning views.

Your safari starts in the hills of Bandarawela. Admire the rolling hills clad with row upon row of luscious, green tea plants. It’s often shrouded in a fine mist, adding a magical air to the landscape. Have your camera ready as your guide takes you to the best viewing spots.

Take in the glory of the region from Lipton’s Seat in the mountains of Dambetenna. At the summit and through the estate paths, you can walk in the steps of Sir Thomas Lipton and learn about his influence in the country.

Try your hand at picking tea leaves alongside the experts, and learn all about the work that goes on at the plantation and factories. Sample the fine produce, and spend some time relaxing with the locals by the dense, green scenery. Tea-lover or not, the Hill Country is welcoming to all.
