We made this excursion that unfortunately the rice had already been harvested and finding cloudy weather the landscapes did not give their best, it was still a nice experience especially to deal with our guide who was nice and attentive to our needs. The homestay was not exactly that of the photographs but in the surroundings, obviously the homestay experience requires a little bit of adaptation. Good organization of all services.

The bus ride to Sapa was great, very comfortable way of traveling. Our guide was excellent - she was a local girl with very good English and knowledge about the area. The length of the hike in Sapa should be specified in the tour description. We didn't have any problems with this approx 11 kilometers long track, but other people did. Some needed to get picked up in the middle of the trip simply because it was physically too exhausting for them. Our return bus from Sapa was for some reason changed for 2 hours earlier (no communication about it from the company) and there was no one to pick us up to get back to our hotel in Hanoi. In the tour description it clearly says that the pick up and drop off to hotel are included. The tour organizer did not pick up her phone nor replied in WhatsApp. Luckily the Sapa Sleeping bus guide helped us out and we got a free taxi ride back to our hotel.

The first day there was a lot of fog so we could not really appreciate the scenery but all the same, we could enjoy the fresh air, our guide was awesome his name is Sung and we learned a lot of things. The night at Mountain River (homestay) was top, the dinner was delicious, the beds comfy with mosquito nets and duvet! The second day it was more beautiful when we were able to enjoy the beautiful scenery I was delighted! It is cool in Sapa so preferably, bring something to keep you warm. The only negative was the person in charge in the bus who was very maniac and not very nice, she confiscated a box of chips at the entrance of the bus because it was forbidden to eat inside and even if I told him that I was just going to put it in my bag, he did not want to listen. At the end of the trip, he did not give me the package but put it on the side of the road, which I find incorrect. His English was mediocre and was repeated.
