After pick-up in a private air-conditioned vehicle visit the Chinese Hangzhou Cuisine Museum. The museum consists of three sections the exhibition zone, the experience zone and the operation zone. The experience zone and operation zone are the main parts. The museum exhibits some 110 cultural relics related to the Hangzhou cuisine, a branch of the broader Zhejiang cuisine, as well as nearly 200 lifelike artificial dishes. The museum also features Hangzhou cuisine workshops and restaurants to demonstrate the food culture of Hangzhou. Next visit the local Wet Market where traditionally the freshest local products are sold. Learn how to grocery shop like the Hangzhounese and bargain hard for the ingredients for today's menu. Continue your tour to Meijiawu Tea Village. With a local tea farmer and chef by your side fire up your wok and transform those raw ingredients into authentic Chinese food. Later drive to the highlight of Hangzhou, the West Lake. It was awarded as an UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2011. Enjoy the beauty that has attracted numerous literati, who left behind works of literature and poetry to describe the lake. Enjoy a boat trip on the West Lake to see some of the top attractions, such as Spring Dawn at Su Causeway, Melting Snow on Broken Bridge, Three Pools Mirroring the Moon and so on. Your final stop is the Tea House. Discover the famous Longjing tea, which was granted the status of imperial tea in the Qing dynasty by the Kangxi Emperor. You will have a chance to taste the tea and learn how the farmers produce the tea. You will also find out how to recognize the quality of the Dragon Well tea. After the tour ends you will be taken back to your hotel or Hangzhou train station.
