Day Trips

Depart from the White Tower of Thessaloniki at 8:00 AM and head to Ouranoupoli by bus. You'll arrive in Ouranoupoli at around 11:00 AM in front of the Byzantine Prosphori Tower and board the boat for the cruise around Mount Athos. During the cruise you have the chance to see the ports of the Holy Monasteries of Helandariou and Konstamonitou, the colorful Monastery of Docheiariou, the nearby Monastery of Xenophontos, the renovated Holy Monastery of Agiou Panteleimonos - the Russian monastery, the Holy Monastery of Xeropotamou, the main harbor of Mount Athos Daphne, the impressive Holy Monastery of Simonos Petras and the Holy Monasteries of Osiou Grigoriou. Lastly, you can see Agia Anna, just below the imposing Mount Athos, which stands magnificently at 2,000 meters above sea level. After the cruise, visit the island of Ammouliani where you'll have free time to enjoy a swim in the emerald sea.

Get picked up at your hotel or nearby location in central Thessaloniki, and then journey by bus to Ormos Panagias for the start of your cruise to the Drenia islands complex of 6 tiny islets. Cool down with a refreshing swim and snorkel with the marine life on arrival, and then enjoy a tasty lunch on the beach. Next, sail to Ammouliani island for a coffee or another chance to swim in the crystal clear waters. Go for a stroll around the village to get an appreciation for everyday life in Greece.  Stop for another swim close to the village of Vourvourou and between the Diaporos islands as you cruise back towards Ormos Panagias. Look for seagulls and dolphins in their natural environment and listen to some authentic Greek bouzouki music along the way.

Climb aboard an elegant sailing boat in the port of Nea Fokea and sail along the stunning coastline of Chalkidiki. Make your way to the village of Afytos, where you can cool down with a swim in the crystal clear waters and soak up the scenery. Continue to Kriopigi and go ashore to enjoy a refreshing drink at a small beach bar. Get served a fruit salad and enjoy another swim or top up your tan in the sun. Next, feast from a lunch of sandwiches and fresh fruit with water, wine, apple juice, coffee and iced tea at Kalithea Beach Cruise back along the coast and get dropped off at the port of Nea Fokea in the late afternoon at the end of your amazing experience.

Following early morning pick-up from central locations in Thessaloniki, travel by luxury air-conditioned bus to Ormos Panagias in the northeast of the Sithonia Peninsula in Halkidiki. Climb aboard a boat and sail towards the south of the Athos Peninsula, soaring to a maximum altitude of 2,033 meters. Continue north along the western coast and admire the mysterious and miraculous mountain that has been the center of Eastern Orthodox monasticism for centuries.  At the end of an approximately 4-hour cruise, stop in the village of Ouranoupoli. Return to Ormos Panagias as you are treated to a wonderful program of traditional dances and Greek music. Arrive in Ormos Panagias at around 17:00, where the bus will be waiting to take you back to your hotel in Thessaloniki.

Departing from Ouranoupolis Port, explore the crystal blue waters of Halkidiki and visit three islands in just one day. See all the typical marine life in the Mediterranean sea: octopuses, sea anemones, starfishes, moray eels, sea slugs (nudibranchs), and a lot of fish varieties swimming around you. The program is aimed at beginners, so no license or previous experience is needed. All diving equipment is provided. Participants must be at least 10 years old which makes it an experience suitable for the whole family. Furthermore, once you realize that you want to become PADI certified, you will have already done the first step. The PADI Discover Scuba Diving program can be credited towards your PADI Open Water Diver course, the world's most popular and widely recognized scuba course.
