Guadalajara and Tlaquepaque Sightseeing Tour

1. Guadalajara and Tlaquepaque Sightseeing Tour

Begin your panoramic tour by visiting the roundabout of the Minerva, the representative guardian of the city erected in the 50s. Continue toward the arches of the old entrance to Guadalajara, which marked the start of the Guadalajara-Morelia highway. These are 20-meter high neoclassical arches, where one can appreciate the colors of the coat of arms of the state of Jalisco. Head then to Chapultepec Avenue, the cultural corridor and one of the liveliest areas of Guadalajara. Continue your journey of old houses on Libertad Street, where you can travel to the end of the 1800s and marvel at architecture from the city's most beautiful time. Proceed with a visit to the Gothic temple of Expiatorio, also known as the Cross of Squares of the Historical Center of the city.  Continue to the Metropolitan Cathedral and discover the murals of the Government Palace created by José Clemente Orozco. Walk through Liberation Square, stopping outside of the Degollado Theater, headquarters of the mariachi galas held every September. Finish the tour in Tlaquepaque, where you can taste food in one of the restaurants of the Independencia, followed by some typical sweets in a local store.
