I had a great day on Chinese Great Wall. I was lucky to have a guide whose name was Claire, she was helpful, kind and happy person. It was easy to communicate with her. Started from the meeting point in Beijing and throughout all the way everything was on high level, was well-organized. I definitely recommend to take tour of this company. Great job MUBUS team and many thanks!

  • Badaling Great Wall: Admission with Cable Car Return Ticket

    5. Badaling Great Wall: Admission with Cable Car Return Ticket

Visit the most popular section of the Great Wall of China in Badaling. As the earliest open section of Great Wall, Badaling is well restored and accessible compared to other sections. Well equipped with stairs and handrails, this makes Badaling a great choice for all visitors. Explore the Great Wall to see how it was used to defend against invasion and the use of different parts, including the watchtower and the arrow holes. Challenge yourself to hike up the 4-kilometer long trails to the highest point, North Eighth Tower, and take breathtaking photos. Opt for an easier way with the cable car ticket included in this bundle, which takes you directly there. Don't forget to explore the nearby area, where you can find the Great Wall Museum and a market.

  • Great Wall Hiking: Small Group

    6. Great Wall Hiking: Small Group

your guide will meet you at 8am and then drive to Simatai West. You will start the hiking around 10:30am, and it will take about 3 hours to complete. A lunch at a local farmer’s restaurant will be organized after the hiking before returning to the city. This section offers arguably the finest hiking anywhere on the Great Wall. It is extremely photogenic, with over 15 watch-towers, and steep gradients that give constantly changing perspectives and wide, open views. There is fascinating variety in the watch-towers here. Some have two storeys, others three. Some have flat roofs, others rounded and others again are pitched with upturned eaves. This section of the wall is wild, ruined, preserved and original. On a clear day, it is difficult to fail to take good photographs here.

What an amazing day! We had wonderfully blue skies and very little wind on our hike from Simatai to Jinshanling. Tau was a fantastic guide. He provided great insight to the wall, region, history, and peoples. He made sure everyone was comfortable with the pace and had plenty of time for photos whenever we liked. Mind you, there are a lot of stairs to climb on this 15 tower trek, but they are doable and so worth it. ADDED BONUS: I didn’t expect too much from the included lunch after reading previous reviews, but it was one of our favorite meals during our stay in China! Highly recommended!

  • From Beijing: Great Wall at Mutianyu Half-Day Hiking Trip

    7. From Beijing: Great Wall at Mutianyu Half-Day Hiking Trip

After pick-up by your guide at your hotel, make the 1.5-hour drive to the Great Wall at Mutianyu. Have a rest and enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. You'll then have two options for travelling up and down the wall: round-trip cable car or chairlift, or by toboggan. Take 7 minutes to reach the top of the wall (instead of the 45 minutes it takes to go by foot up the steps!). The cable car ascends to and descends from the 14th watchtower, from where you can walk east to the 23rd watchtower, the most beautiful part of the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. The cable car will take you to the 6th watch tower - recommended for those in great physical condition, as the hike to the 23rd watchtower from the 6th is more difficult. Spend the day exploring this truly extraordinary Wall that has captured the imagination of the world for centuries. After returning to the foot of the Grea...

Just amazing and has to be done. Our guide Jin made it so much more worthwhile to hike and enjoy a wonder of the world.

  • Badaling Great Wall and Ming Tombs Coach Tour from Beijing

    8. Badaling Great Wall and Ming Tombs Coach Tour from Beijing

Benefit from early morning pick-up at your hotel in Beijing and then travel in an air-conditioned coach to Dingling Tomb, one of the 13 tombs of the Ming Dynasty emperors. See the underground palace and mausoleum of Emperor Wan Li.  Learn about the ancient art of jade carving at a jade shop, and then enjoy a traditional Chinese lunch at a local restaurant. Drive to the Badaling section of the legendary Great Wall of China. Located in the dramatic Yanshan Mountains, Badaling is the most famous and best-preserved section of the wall. Ride the cable car up the mountain (at your own expense) or hike to the 16th-century ramparts for far-reaching views. Take souvenir photos from the comfort of the coach. Then, get the chance to take part in a traditional Chinese tea ceremony and purchase different blends to take home.

Generally the trip was OK. But the lunch was served too early at about 10:15 and was bad. The guide collected the trip reviews collectively and it was not possible to express your real point of view. I have an impression that this is a common way of collecting reviews but I hope to be wrong. All in all recommended:)

Constructed in 1368 during the Ming Dynasty, the Jiankou Great Wall is made of large light colored rocks and has never been restored, with some sections falling into disrepair. Face the challenge of an approximate 5-hour hike with spectacular views of jagged cliffs and scenic lookouts. Arrive at the reconstructed Mutianyu Great Wall and re-energize with a delicious lunch at a local restaurant before the return drive to Beijing.

Really good trip, enjoyed it very much ! Happy to have had Bob chen as my guide !

Roy was an excellent guide and very good at managing a large crowd of tourists. His instructions were clear as he’s fluent in English. I really enjoyed the tour as he briefly explained the history of the wall and materials used to glue them together. Buffet was sumptuous, lots of veggies. No shopping stops which I appreciated so the whole time was dedicated in exploring the walls and other attractions like cable car and toboggan. This tour is highly recommended.
