The Bernina is one of Switzerland's most scenic railways, climbing more than 1,800 meters, making it the steepest railway journey in the world. Round-trip transfer from Milan is included in the tour. Your rail journey begins in Tirano, Italy, and takes you all the way to the world-renowned Swiss mountain resort of St. Moritz. 3. Tirano: Bernina Red Train and Cablecar to Diavolezza Refuge

Spend a day admiring unique panoramas of the Swiss Alps whilst traveling on the famous Bernina Red Train, which in 2010 was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. You will leave from Tirano, an ancient Italian town known for its Renaissance Basilica and its 18th-century palaces, churches and gates. Tirano is also famous for the excellent red wines made from Nebbiolo grapes, and culinary specialities like pizzoccheri, bresaola and alpine cheeses.  You will board the Bernina Red Train in Tirano, climb the Swiss Valposchiavo Valley and start the descent into the Engadin Valley until you reach Diavolezza station, where you'll take the cable car up to Diavolezza Refuge (3000 meters), also called the "Ballroom of the Alps".  Here you'll to enjoy the stunning view on the Piz Bernina and have free time to enjoy a drink or lunch at the refuge. On your way back to Tirano, where the experience ends, you can make a stop in the village of Poschiavo to take a stroll along the Poschiavo Lake.

Admire the view as the train travels into the mountains. Gaze in awe at the stunning panoramas of the Morteratsch Glacier and the world famous Montebello Curve. Continue past the lakes of Lago Bianco e Laj Neir up to Alp Gruem. Arrive in Tirano before boarding a bus to make the return journey to Milan with a scheduled arrival of between 8:00 PM and 8:30 PM.

Meet your tour guide at a pre-arranged time in the lobby of your hotel. Your guide will transfer you to the train station in Zürich, where you will board an intercity train. This will take you along Lake Zürich to the south east of Switzerland. When you arrive in Chur, the oldest town in Switzerland, you will have the opportunity for a short walk around, schedule times depending. Back at the train station, you will take your seat in the panoramic train. The train departs at approximately 11:45 AM. Pass through the famous Rhine gorge heading to Disentis, listening to audio comments on a headset. Simply ask your guide about availability. In Disentis, the train will start to climb to 2033m above sea level into a rough alpine landscape. After passing a lighthouse, the train will begin its descent on a steep track down to Andermatt, a village 1400m above sea level. The train will stop in Andermatt for 15 minutes, which gives you the chance to stop, stretch your legs, and breathe in the fresh Swiss air. The journey will continue through the 15km long "Furka" base tunnel, constructed in 1982 to save travel time from Andermatt to Brig. Your train will continue through the “Goms” valley in direction of Brig. This valley is known as a destination for summer hiking and winter sports. The time to Brig is approximately two hours. Once there, you will again have the opportunity to exit the train for a walk through the pedestrian zone and the palace "Stockalper".   Your guide will lead you to the right train in Brig, where you will board an intercity train. When your guide leaves you in Brig, they will handover all necessary tickets and information to you so you can continue your journey back to your hotel.

Meet your pilot at the valley station of the Gotschna cable car in Klosters. The Gotschna valley station is located very close to the train station "Klosters Platz". There are car parking places in front of the cable car station and near the landing site available. Your pilot team consists of pilots from Davos and Klosters. Among them are pilots with 30 years of paragliding experience, the former Swiss cross-country champion, a flight instructor and a mountain guide. Together with your pilot you will take the two sections of the Gotschna cable car up to the Gotschnagrat. Before, during and after the cable car ride you will have enough time to discuss any questions with your pilot. You will also get an insight into the world of paragliding. Once at the top, the pilot checks the wind situation again and selects a suitable launch site. On the Gotschnagrat there are take-off places for different wind directions. When you arrive at the starting point, your pilot prepares the material for your flight and connects you with the wing. Your guide will only fly using current paragliders of the latest generation. Finally it's time to launch and after the command "1-2-Go!" you start running together with your pilot. After a few steps you are together in the air! With a height-difference of approximately 1,000 meters from all take-off points available for the flight. Enough time to feel free like a bird. If thermals allow it, you will also climb much higher once in flight. During the flight you can easily talk to your pilot and tell him your wishes. Steer yourself, fly dynamic maneuvers with a lot of g-forces or simply glide along and enjoy the beautiful landscape. The flight it carried out according to your individual wishes. You can bring snowshoes or snowboarding and skis up the mountain and make stops along the railway to sight see.

A scenic ride through the Swiss Alps. It’s a pity that we only had one hour in St Moritz.
