Explore the Blue Bay Marine Park by glass-bottom boat and snorkeling in the largest marine life and coral reserve in Mauritius, including a relaxing lunch on a private beach. Your half-day excursion starts from the Blue Bay Public Beach in the southeast of Mauritius. Board the glass-bottom boat and head out into the Blue Bay Marine Park to observe its underwater diversity. Sail along the marvelous seaside from Point d’Esny to visit the old shipwreck, located in the turquoise lagoon of the Marine Park. Here, you’ll have your first chance to go snorkeling and discover this underwater world for yourself.   Then, head to the private island Ile de deux Cocos for lunch. Relax on one of the public beaches on the island where you’ll be offered a delicious typical Creole picnic. Choose between a traditional Creole curry prepared with fish, chicken, or vegetables served with rice and salad. A large variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be served as well—don’t skip the famous Jungle Cocktail.   After lunch, take up to 2 hours to relax on the beach and enjoy the beautiful environment on this private island. After your break, the crew will pick you up and take you back to the Marine Park lagoon, where you’ll have another opportunity to snorkel among the fish and coral, before heading back to the starting point.

For a lovely relaxing day at sea, spend a full day on this catamaran excursion to the heavenly island of Ile aux Cerfs. Sail within the safety of the largest turquoise lagoon in Mauritius along the historic wild east coast of the island. Your catamaran departs from Pointe Jerome, near the authentic village of Mahebourg and the Marine Park of Blue Bay, which is protected under the International Ramsar Convention. You can snorkel and swim before visiting the Grande Riviere Sud Est waterfall in its beautiful natural setting.  Here, some 18th-century ramparts can still be seen. They were witness to some tough corsair activities and naval skirmishes. In 1810, tis was the scene of the ”Battle of Vieux Grand Port” between the French and the English.  Enjoy a BBQ buffet prepared and served on board by your friendly crew. This consists of the famous smoked marlin mousse, grilled fish, chicken and sausages, rice and potato salads, crudités, freshly baked bread, fresh fruits, and coffee.

This is not a scuba certification course, but a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world. No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary, but you need to be in reasonable physical health.

Embark on a trip to the Blue Bay by speedboat and visit the entirety of Mauritius' southeast coast and the nearby islands in one day. The tour includes not only a visit to the famous Ile aux Cerfs island and the pristine cascade of the Grande River South East, but also to Ile aux Phares and Ile de la Passe, providing an opportunity to learn a bit of the history of Mauritius in the colonial period. The site of Ile aux Phares is where, as the name suggests, an old lighthouse dating back more than 200 years stands, now declared a historical monument. In 1810, Ile aux Phares and Ile de la Passe were the theater of a battle between the French and the British, known as the naval battle of Grand Port, which is the only victory of the Napoleonic Navy and is also listed on the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. In addition to the historic aspect of the islands, you will be made privy to a striking sight within the water. The contrast between both sides of the island is breathtaking: on one side you will find the lagoon turquoise and calm, and on the other, the big waves of the Indian Ocean smash against the breakers of the island. You will then go to Ile aux Aigrettes for a swim then back to Ile aux Cerfs, where lunch will be served. Relax and sunbathe or just chill out on the beach or in the crystal clear water of Ile aux Cerfs before returning to the meeting point in Trou d'Eau Douce.

After being collected from your accommodation, you will be driven to the site where your dive course will take place. Your Padi open-water diver course is a full-fledged diving course, after which you will receive certification. You will learn basic and technical skills whilst in the pool, and will also discover more about your diving equipment. Following that, everything learned in the pool will be applied throughout 4 sea-training dives. You will not only learn the skills to practice, but will also discover more about the sea and its aquatic life. You will be taught how to protect the ocean and spread the word all over the world, telling your friends how to treasure this most valuable natural asset. At the conclusion of your underwater experience, your driver will return you back to your hotel.
