Full description

Embark on a guided bus tour of Loch Lomond, the Trossachs, and Stirling Castle from Glasgow. Take in the views of the lush Scottish countryside and learn about William Wallace and Rob Roy from your driver.

After leaving Glasgow, stop at the ‘bonnie banks’ of Loch Lomond, one of the prettiest and largest lochs in the whole of Scotland. Take a cruise, enjoying spectacular views of the loch’s many islands and the surrounding mountains.

Alternatively, take a stroll through the picturesque loch-side conservation village of Luss, with its quaint houses, cafes, and stunning views across the loch’s western shoreline. Eat lunch in the village of Aberfoyle, nestled in the heart of Trossachs National Park. Continue through the Trossachs, Scotland’s first national park, known as ‘the Highlands in miniature’ for its abundance of lochs, mountains, and forests, and homeland of the legendary outlaw, Rob Roy MacGregor. Your final stop is Stirling Castle, which sits high on volcanic rock and offers wonderful views of the surrounding landscape. Have time to visit the castle and learn of the exploits of key historic figures including William Wallace, Robert the Bruce, and Mary Queen of Scots.

After your visit to Stirling Castle, make your way back to Glasgow.

Very nice trip. The weather was on our side and we were able to see the mountains and the lakes perfectly. Didn't do the boat ride but a short walk along the stream to Loch Lomond which was fine. Stirling Castle is magnificent. Overall we see a lot of beautiful landscapes without spending the whole day on the bus. Nevertheless, I prefer excursions for smaller groups (we were 32), offered by other companies and which are not more expensive. Our guide Andrew T was very motivated and passed on his love of Scotland to us. Very pleasant, he was perfect to guide us on this day.

Robert was a fantastic driver. Super knowledgeable and can't recommend this tour enough. We were a family of 4 and had an awesome experience. Do note that the castle entry is an extra £16.50 and you can do a cruise of the loch for an extra £14 as well. Both are absolutely worth it.

Simply a wonderful trip all around...highly recommended. Just as a note to others planning this excursion: The stop for lunch is very short, with no time to actually explore the town. The gift shop where we got lunch had mainly pre-packaged sandwiches. Also, we did not realize the boat tour was extra, but that worked out OK as we were able to pay for it as we boarded the bus. We also did not realize the castle was a separate admission. All these glitches aside, we had a great time and would highly recommend taking the boat trip and exploring the castle.
