Small Group Walks Rabaçal 25 Fontes

1. Small Group Walks Rabaçal 25 Fontes

The Rabaçal 25 Fontes walk starts in the Rabaçal, a walk through the middle of the Laurissilva forest, through the irrigation canals that reach the lagoon from the 25 Fontes. The origin of the name of the Levada of the 25 Fontes is due to the fact that there is a lagoon with 25 springs at the end of Levada, it is the most beautiful point of the whole walk with a large waterfall falling into a small lagoon. Throughout the tour you have an immense variety of species of flora and fauna  to gaze at on the island of Madeira. This Levada has a small passage from the north coast to the south coast, with a very interesting history due to its origin and the way it was built. It is one of the most famous of all the islands because of the unforgettable landscapes and sensations along the whole walk.

What people are saying about Funchal

Very well organised small (8) guided tour led by experienced & knowledgeable guide Luis from Explore Nature. Despite wet weather conditions Luis led us on a very interesting route to:from the 25 Fontes lagoon. The steep paths were challenging at times but very manageable & no-one was rushed. Nice cafe/bar stop pre & post walk. Highly recommend as a ‘’must see’ levada

It was a fantastic event with Nelson Goncalves. Cross-country with speed and yet you felt safe. The group was great! It was a lot of fun! A "must have" for all Madeira vacationers! Double thumbs up! Perfect value for money.

It was a wonderful tour. Our guide made sure that we could hike far away from the crowds of people; except of course in the very special places.

A fun afternoon out with a very knowledgeable guide, Hugo, who was quick to interact with us. Pickup and dropoffs were spot on time.

A very nice and fun walk through Madeira, with a very nice guide Luís! thanks!!
