Full description
Depart Funchal by open 4WD vehicle and journey to one of the island's most impressive views. Go to Cabo Girão on the southern coast, where a glass-floored viewing platform was installed in October 2012 and the Cabo Girão Skywalk is the highest in Europe. Marvel at hues of intense depth and clarity, enhanced by the constant light of a warm and inviting sun. Travel along the island's steep and serpentine roads and enter an exotic part of Madeira known only to a few. Benefit from the services of a local guide as you get uninterrupted views from your open-top 4x4 vehicle and visit Câmara de Lobos, where Sir Winston Churchill was inspired to paint the landscape. We will stop at a local bar, where you can try some local/traditional drinks and the famous, "poncha."

we had a fantastic 4 hrs tour our driver Hugo was extremely knowable and very funny this tour made our holiday a must and well worth the money we did stop at a cafe for a freshly made poncho drink it cost 2 euros but again great to watch the bar make it fresh also had hand full of chips and nibbles free in me and my wife's opinion an all round great tour. if I had to pick fault its just the age of the vehicle not a shinny new one but still great

Fun morning. Driver clearly knew what he was doing, just as well as some of the off road bits were vertiginously scary. He was knowledgable and had lots of ‘fun facts’. This is not for the faint hearted nor for those who expect comfort, but worth a go for those who like thrills. Only downside was a 75 minute round trip at the end to drop off a couple who were in a hotel 40km away. Not the drivers fault but still annoying.

Successful excursion

We can speak of a very nice excursion. We were a group of 5 adults and one child. Our guide Spenser introduced us to the island in a very interesting way. The tour started punctually at the port and took us including an off-road tour across the island to the viewing platform, into the nuns valley and fishing village. He explained a lot about the island, plants and inhabitants.
