We were brand new visitors to Madeira so wanted to learn a little bit about the background and history of Funchal. We were staying in Funchal and the tour covered the area that we had started to explore ourselves plus other areas we hadn't reached yet. Our guide was really knowledgeable and his English was impeccable, so we were able to easily understand everything he told us. As well as the history, he told us a bit about the local plant life and, traditional food and drinks of the Island which we then went on to try ourselves after the tour had finished. It was a really enjoyable couple of hours and we saw and learnt a lot without feeling overwhelmed with information or rushed from place to place. The fact that there were only 5 of us on the tour, all English, meant that we could easily hear everything he told us and we didn't need to listen to it in lots of different languages. It was a great tour for new visitors to a really lovely city.

There were only two of us on the tour and we had a particularly nice young German tour guide who was able to tell and show us a lot about the history and the city center. She was very responsive to our needs. Thanks very much!!!

Really enjoyed. Just enough walking and talking. Just enough facts to keep it interesting about, history, religion, food, drink, culture. Only 3 of us on tour.would recommend as an introduction to the city.

Very good guide, not too much and not too little information given.

Very knowledgeable and made it interesting with little known facts
