From Tokyo: Mount Fuji 2-Day Hike with Dawn Summit Sunrise

2. From Tokyo: Mount Fuji 2-Day Hike with Dawn Summit Sunrise

Depart from Tokyo on a 2-day guided hike to the summit of Mount Fuji. Climb up the Subashiri trail with panoramic views and pass by Shinto temples. Rest for the night at the Fujisan Hotel and wake up at dawn to reach the summit and watch the sunrise. Day 1: Start your adventure with the choice of meeting at Tochomae Station or Gotenba Station. Drive through the busy streets of Tokyo out into the wilderness to reach the start of your hike on the Subashiri trail. Climb 5 kilometers on day one, from the 5th station up to Fujisan Hotel mountain hut. Take in panoramic views as you begin to ascend, reaching an observation point over the wooded lowlands and flanking mountains. Pass by a picturesque Shinto temple in the sub-alpine region, before the trail gradually turns into alpine climbing with steep inclines and red volcanic rock. Take your time over the tricky terrain and rest with your guides when required. Breathe deep breaths as you arrive at the Fujisan Hotel and relax as your head guide goes over the details to prepare you for the rest of your climb in the morning. The accommodation is modest but homely. Day 2: Wake up before the dawn and roll out of bed to make the final push up to the summit. This is the part that makes all your effort worth it as you climb up into the heavens while the sky begins to brighten. Make the last step up onto the summit and gaze in wonder at the world spreading out around you. Watch the stunning sunrise on the horizon, known as the "Buddha's Halo," among temples and gateways for the gods. Descend the mountain with a huge smile on your face, taking half the time of the climb up but still requiring significant effort. Order drinks and food to refuel when you reach the 5th station again, before boarding the bus back to Tokyo.

What people are saying about Fujinomiya

... great trip ... Beautiful weather and very nice locations. The lake was nice but windy, shame it was just 1/2 hour. The location of the hill with te pagode was on my list for a long time ... very nice view of Fuju in every way. Just get good shoes and good condition. The ponds where also nice and beautiful location again ... rather had 2 hours to visit all 8, just mised one due to time. The Peace Park was ok, liked the valley of the Kannon statues and the garden ... had luck to see and hear the Monks pray. Only downpoint was traffic to Fuji and back. But the day made it ok.

Great fun tour that is well taken care of. Cheerful supervisor who tells a lot and gives you enough freedom. At the end you choose either shopping or going to the park. Great definitely recommended

Very nice trip. Central entry point in Shinjuku and on a beautiful day you will get beautiful views of Mt. Fuji! Definitely worth it and a must do if you want a side trip!

My Fuji was spine tingling amazing to see - the bus journey and the guide and the stops at various observation locations was all wonderful- thankyou for the great day :)

Great tour! Fortunately, the weather was sunny and I took nice pics
