After just 20-minutes by boat from Corralejo, be amazed by the different tones of blue water whilst you disembark to this hidden corner of the Atlantic Ocean. Looking to the right of the harbor, you will find the path that takes you to El Puertito, an old fishing village next to a white-sand beach. At El Puertito, you can find the only restaurant on the island and a few buildings that were built before the island had been declared a Natural Park. Surrounded by tranquil waters, you will enjoy the island’s rich and exotic sea life. To the left of the harbor, you can find the most famous beach on this side of El Río. Take a swim in the calm and crystal clear, turquoise blue water or sunbathe in the fine sand, perfect for families with children, couples, young and old. This beach is commonly known as “La Concha” (the Shell) because of its shape, although the official name is La Caleta because of the limescale oven that played an important role in the construction of the “Martiño” lighthouse. From here you can see in the distance the dunes of Corralejo, the contours of Fuerteventura and when turning your back to the sea, appreciate the unique mountain “La Caldera”. Don’t forget to visit the nearby statue of Josefine Plá, the Spanish writer, poet and essayist, who was born on the island. Take a deep breath, a bottle of water and get ready to climb the highest peak of the island. The “La Caldera” mountain is a volcanic cone of relatively recent origin. Out of Corralejo by road towards Villaverde. At the entrance of the village, we take the track up to plantations Agaves (Pitas) extending across the plain and stop here for explaining the former processing of yarns Pita with those manufactured using traditional ropes, pads, sandals and other handicraft products Canaria. On dirt roads we arrive at the Oliva, visiting the home of the Colonels and the town square with his church. Break for refreshments and services. This excursion consists of two level 2 hikes in the south-southwest area of the island within the Natural Park of Jandia. You will be driven to the southwest end of the peninsula of Jandia, Punta Pecebre, once we reach our destination, you will start your first route. This route will take us northeast along the imposing windward coast, to then enter a sandy area, leaving to our right the remains of an ancient volcanic building called Talahijas, which will accompany us to the ravine of Agua Cabras, which as its name suggests, runs a small thread of salty water (not always active) where goats have been satisfiying their thirst for centuries. Once arrived at this beautiful place we will only miss about 300 m to see the wild and beautiful beach of el Junquillo and la Punta del Junquillo. After a short break you will undo your steps having another perspective of the coast, to return to our vehicle and head to another natural wonder that gives us the Natural Park of Jandia, Playa de Ojos. You will continue your journey with our vehicle to the Punta de Jandia lighthouse where you will see the imposing and dangerous rocky shallows of la punta, after the photos we will head to el Puertito where you will have free time to have a drink in the restaurants or cool off with a swim (at your own risk). Once you have recharged your batteries we will drive with our van to one of the most spectacular and breathtaking scenery of Fuerteventura, Cofete. We will make a stop at the famous Winter House to contemplate it from the outside and then head to the old cemetery of Cofete. After the mandatory photos of such majestic scenery, we will head to the starting point of our second hike; between cardones and a unique scenery we will descend through a ravine full of volcanic formations to the wild coast of Cofete. Once we arrived at the beach, we wil take off our shoes and head south, until we reach an imposing stone monolith known as El Roque del Moro. After a rest we will retrace our steps back to the vehicle to return home after this unforgettable day.

Excellent trip really enjoyed it. Ferry over was quick, lovely scenary and crew very nice. Island is beautiful and if your willing to do a nice hike to the old lighthouse there are outstanding views. You can cool off in the lagoons by the old port.

I was on holiday in Fuerteventura last week and I enjoyed this beautiful buggy driving experience near the wonderful town of Corralejo (dunes, asphalt, rough road) ... Adventure to try once you get to this island ...

We have adored! It is true that you have to go by road to reach the stony paths. The guide was friendly, we recommend this activity to do in Corralejo.
