  • From Warsaw: Lodz Private Full-Day Tour

    1. From Warsaw: Lodz Private Full-Day Tour

Journey by train from Warsaw to Lodz, one of Poland's largest cities, yet perhaps its most overlooked. Discover the modernist architecture that was once home to the country's richest display of multiculturalism. 19th-century Lodz was the heart of the Polish textile industry and the sheer number of factories there earned the city its reputation as the “Polish Manchester”. The local economy attracted immigrants from far and wide, with an emphasis on Jewish, Russian, and German culture, as well as that of its native Poles. Upon arrival visit the Old Town and saunter through the industrial complex of the old manufacturing giants, the Poznanski family. Then compare that with the Scheibler fabric factories, one of the best examples of the city's post-Soviet revitalization. The tour ends in Piotrkowska Street, a popular walkway in which you'll enjoy the array of shops, pubs, and restaurants,...

The spacious rooms also display a number of unique manuscripts penned by Chopin in his early childhood. Afterward, relax in the lovely botanical park created behind the manor. After touring the museum and its gardens in Zelazowa Wola, visit the Gothic-Renaissance parish church in nearby Brochow. This is the site where Chopin's parents were married and young ...

The route was well thought out and we spent just about the right amount of time in each location. The guide was very aimiable, spoke very good English and took the trouble to explain things if we needed further information. I would say that nothing was too much trouble for our guide and we would have no trouble in reccomending him to other individuals/groups.

Our tour guide and driver for our 4-hour private tour of Chopin in Warsaw was George. He was both informative and resourceful for our entire tour. For example, he knew that the regular outdoor Chopin concerts had all ended for the season (we took our tour with him on Sept. 15), so, he made sure that we got seating for the Sunday afternoon concert by a professional pianist at the birthplace in Zelazowa Wola. We got to hear a 1st-rate, all-Chopin concert played on a piano within the home where Chopin lived with his family before moving to Warsaw. My wife and I sat just outside the window of his home, and it was just as if we were overhearing Chopin himself playing a medley of his greatest masterpieces. Bravo! Thank you, again, George.

Pleasant private tour!

Our guide Monika was fun and friendly. Luckily we visited there on the free entrance day(Wednesdays). The museum was not crowded at all and the garden was so beautiful. It was nice to imagine how chopin spent his childhood vacation in this green quiet atmosphere.

Fabulous visit.

My tour of Zelazowa Wola was brilliant. My guide was informative and we had a great time. The museum itself & the beautiful gardens far exceeded my expectations. And the concert of music by Chopin was the icing on the cake. A perfect day out.
