8. From Warsaw: Lodz Private Full-Day Tour

Journey by train from Warsaw to Lodz, one of Poland's largest cities, yet perhaps its most overlooked. Discover the modernist architecture that was once home to the country's richest display of multiculturalism. 19th-century Lodz was the heart of the Polish textile industry and the sheer number of factories there earned the city its reputation as the “Polish Manchester”. Upon arrival visit the Old Town and saunter through the industrial complex of the old manufacturing giants, the Poznanski family. Our tour guide and driver for our 4-hour private tour of Chopin in Warsaw was George. He was both informative and resourceful for our entire tour. For example, he knew that the regular outdoor Chopin concerts had all ended for the season (we took our tour with him on Sept. 15), so, he made sure that we got seating for the Sunday afternoon concert by a professional pianist at the birthplace in Zelazowa Wola. We got to hear a 1st-rate, all-Chopin concert played on a piano within the home where Chopin lived with his family before moving to Warsaw. My wife and I sat just outside the window of his home, and it was just as if we were overhearing Chopin himself playing a medley of his greatest masterpieces. Bravo! Thank you, again, George.

We booked this guided tour which was great, really well laid out and lots of interactive exhibits. However, the prime reason that we enjoyed the museum was in large part due to our excellent guide. An avid pianist and classical music lover she detailed the life of Chopin with such passion and emotion. I particularly loved the room where you could listen to all his different works and the piano which played the music you selected which could be viewed from the overhead gallery. Thanks for a great experience.

Very good and knowledgeable guide. Helped us even after the tour so that we got to the right place, the concert in the old town, with the right bus. She even followed us on the bus so that we really got it right even though she herself was going in the opposite direction

Lovely tour with lots of interesting info not only about Chopin, but also about Warsaw. Our guide, Olga, was charming, knowledgeable, and friendly. It was a wonderful introduction on our first day in Warsaw.

My tour guide knows alot and very helpful!

Not only that she was very willing to explain polish culture as well which was very helpful!
