Full description
Sail from Fremantle Boat Harbour to Carnac Island, an A Class nature reserve teeming with wildlife. Explore the eastern side of the island by kayak or stand-up paddle board and get the chance to see birds, bottlenose dolphins, and Australian sea lions. Plunge into the ocean and try snorkeling for an underwater view of this spectacular area.
Lying between Rottnest and Garden Islands, Carnac is just a 45-minute sail from the harbor, and is an area of stunning natural beauty (David Attenborough has filmed a documentary on the wildlife here). The sheltered bay on the eastern side provides a safe haven from the southwesterly wind and swell, making it easy to venture out into the water. If the easterly wind is up, the western side of Carnac is also truly magnificent with high limestone cliffs plunging into the water.
Delicious morning tea and coffee is included during the leisurely sail through the gentle waters of the Cockburn Sound, as is all watersports equipment. Without a noisy motor, Capella is able to sail close to the shore so that you can get a close-up view of the wildlife.
