    Enjoy a bus trip to the Upper Middle Rhein Valley, one of the most famous cultural landscapes in Germany. Your tour guide will show you a beautiful part of the river valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Get to know the perfect panorama of steep vineyards, mighty medieval castles, and small, historical wine villages. A boat trip on one of the traditional Rhine steamer ships is also on the agenda. Your tour guide will tell you about the fascinating history of the valley through the centuries. During a wine tasting, learn more about the age-old tradition of wine growing, dating back to the ancient Romans. Don't expect an expert wine sampling, but rather a casual introduction to this tradition. The Rheingau is one of the best wine areas in Central Europe. A light dinner will then be served in a lovely restaurant right at the river promenade. And then it'll be time to return to Frankfurt, full of wonderful impressions of this scenic area.

    Unfortunately my 1/2 day tour was cancelled due to River conditions and other visitors cancelling as a result. I was however offered the full day tour the following day which I thoroughly enjoyed - amazing scenery and a beautiful cruise down the river.

    Our guide, George was knowledgeable and really made the trip worth while. The best part of the trip was the boat trip which was too short in my opinion. And the part which I think needs to improve on is the food. Restaurant was a complete tourist trap with overpriced drinks. And the wine tasting is also done at the restaurant, tasted nice but the amount they gave was probably about a tablespoon.

    The actual tour was AMAZING! I can’t say enough good things about our tour guide Billy and and extra effort, time and care they put into our experience. As for the “Get Your Guide” third party booking agent, it couldn’t have been more horrible. They mixed up the times on our tour. Lucky it was earlier than the tours though out the day. We arrived in Frankfurt (had to wake up at 03:45 to get there by 0930), 09:30 rolls around and still no tour guide. The amazing hotel that we met in front of called the tour company to ask them about the tour time. We were informed of the booking agencies time mix up, our tour was actually at 15:15. They did have a full day Rhine Rive tour at 11:15 that they re booked us for. I am not sure if the “Get Your Guide” has charged me for this change, but the tour company said they wouldn’t. The tour company stated they have never had a tour at 0930 in the over 50 years they have been in service. They were SO accommodating for the miscommunication
