After the adrenaline-pumping cruise, rejoin the bus and head through Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve, an exquisite wetland teeming with wildlife. Capture stunning photos by opening the bus windows and immersing yourself in this scenic environment. Conclude your 4-hour adventure by returning to the city center, leaving you well-placed to explore more or head back to your hotel.

Today starts with a pick-up from your Darwin accommodation at around 9:00 AM. Listen to interesting commentary about the region from your knowledgeable guide as you make your way to Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve. Originally set up as a large scale rice growing project in the 1950s, this location is now a haven for many varieties of birds that you'll get a chance to admire. A short drive from there takes you to the “Window on the Wetlands” Information Centre, where you can enjoy a hands-on display explaining the wetlands and get a fantastic view over the Adelaide River floodplains from their upper viewing deck. Your highlight for the day is an amazing 2.5-hour cruise on the wetlands! See an abundance of birds, crocodiles and wildlife in their natural habitat on the Mary River Wetlands. Home to a huge variety of animals, birdlife and also boasting the largest concentration of Saltwater Crocodiles in the world, these pristine wetlands are a nature lover's paradise. Participants generally see about 30 different species of birds on these cruises! Enjoy a delicious cold lunch on the wetlands, surrounded by nature at its best, as you get up close and personal with plenty of local wildlife. Lunches are healthy and consist of individual pre-packed fresh salads with dressings. There will also be a selection of cold sliced meats and bread so you can make sandwiches if you wish. From here it is just under a 90-minute drive to return you to your Darwin accommodation at around 5:00 PM.

Experience leaping saltwater crocodiles up close on a half-day cruise along the Adelaide River, departing from Darwin. Once on the river, your local guide will entice the prehistoric creatures to leap out of the water for an alarming but thrilling display of their mighty jaws. Continue to the Window on the Wetlands Visitor Centre, the highest point on the lower Adelaide River floodplain. From the top of the center, enjoy superb panoramic views across the scenic Marrakai Plains. We return to Darwin 9 pm or to the Darwin Airport 9:30pm. A great way to spend an enjoyable evening in the Top End.

Day 1: Darwin - Kakadu National Park Begin your adventure in Darwin by heading out to the Wetlands Region, where the stunning scenery of the top end awaits you. On the way, we'll see plenty of Top End birdlife and apex predators... crocodiles! The next two nights will be spent in Kakadu National Park. At Bowali Visitor Centre, we enjoy the landscape and wildlife. Across the border from Arnhem Land to Kakadu, we reach Cahills Crossing. At sunset, we'll visit Ubirr Rock, a rare collection of Aboriginal rock art. Sunset over the Nadab Floodplain will take your breath away. We enjoy an evening at our cozy private camp with our fellow travellers. Drive Distance: 420km. Hike & Grading: 1km loop Grade 2-3. Day 2: Jim Jim Falls - Plunge Pools - Jabiru Return On day 2, we head south into Kakadu National Park. We will explore lush monsoon rainforests, hike through pristine plunge pools and waterfalls surrounded by steep escarpments and rocky cliffs today. Depending on the group's physical ability, we will visit one or more waterfalls. Motor Car Falls, Jim Jim Falls, Twin Falls or Moline Rockhole can be included. We explore the stories of the artefacts at Warradjan Cultural Centre and Gallery, if time permits. We return to camp for dinner and a well-earned rest. Drive Distance: Minimum 150km depending on waterfall access. Note that each journey includes 40km offroad. Hike & Grading: 1.5km - 4km Grade 5/6. Day 3: Kakadu - Katherine Today, we found Burrungkuy (Nourlangie) rock art, Kunwarddewardde Lookout, and Nawurlandja Lookout. Burrungkuy (Nourlangie) Rock has incredible Aboriginal rock art. Barramundi Gorge (Maguk) Waterfall, another 4WD track, is one of Kakadu's most picturesque and pristine waterfalls. Fitness and agility are required to trek through the monsoon forest to the plunge pool. Following our 2km walk, swim, and lunch, we can relax under the stars at our private safari campsite in Katherine. Drive Distance: 420km. Hike & Grading: 1.5km Grade 3. Day 4: Katherine - Nitmiluk National Park It's an early start to reach Nitmiluk National Park and board the two-hour NitNit Katherine Gorge boat cruise. You will marvel at your surroundings and the relaxed cruise atmosphere in this area rich in creation stories. After the cruise, you can take a scenic helicopter flight (optional) to see Nitmiluk and Katherine Gorge. Take a dip beneath a cascading waterfall and enjoy a picnic lunch at Edith Falls! After a day of culture, walks and swimming, our private campsite awaits. Drive Distance: 470km. Hike & Grading: 2km Grade 2-4 depending on the walk embarked on. Day 5: Katherine - Litchfield - Darwin On our fifth day, we travel back to Darwin via Litchfield National Park. Visit Buley Rockholes and Wangi Falls after viewing the monolithic Magnetic Termite Mounds in Litchfield. Enjoy Florence Falls or Tolmer Falls among the rocky escarpment. Take a relaxing ride back to Darwin after exploring the Top End. Drive Distance: 470 km. Walking: 1km - 2km.

This tour will suit everybody, from young to the young at heart, and is the perfect relaxing day around Darwin. See all attractions, without traveling for long periods of time. You will be picked up in front of your hotel and dropped off after an exciting day in the outdoors of the Top End. - Departure will be at the comfortable time of 8.30 am in front of your hotel. Please be 10 minutes before your pick-up time in front of your hotel. We will introduce you to the rich history of Darwin, including Cyclone Tracy and World War Two, before living Darwin. - After our short town tour, we will drive to our first destination, Berry Springs Nature Park, which offers beautiful natural pools and warm springs, surrounded by stunning tropical plants and trees. You can swim or float on one of our swim noodles down a small stream, fringed with pandanus palms and other tropical plants.... A little piece of heaven. The location is known as Laniyuk by the indigenous Kungarakany people and must have been a great place for rejuvenation, then as well as today. The water is very clear, especially in the morning, before the crowds arrive and you might like to bring your goggles to spot beautiful tropical fish or maybe even a turtle. - While you are enjoying yourself in the beautiful warm springs, your guide will prepare a mouth-watering picnic lunch, to enjoy on the shady grass. Close by you will find restrooms, with showers and the chance to get changed into dry clothes. - From here we make our way to Adelaide River to board our exciting Jumping Crocodile Cruise. Adelaide River has one of the highest concentrations of Saltwater Crocodiles in the world! You will be enthralled by a spectacular display of the hunting skills of these apex predators and board for your 1-hour Jumping Crocodile cruise. - On our way back towards Darwin we will stop at a magical place called Fogg Dam. The road along the low dam wall allows us to drive through the middle of the billabong and get up close to the wildlife. From various viewing platforms, we can spot a great variety of Birdlife, such as the Australian Darter, Jacanas, Brolgas, and many more of the 280 species of birds in the Top End. - What better way to finish the day, full of the wonders of the Top End than with a visit to a classic outback pub to enjoy a lovely cold beverage? Sit back and relax, before our drive back to Darwin.
