This tour was excellent! Our guide Roberta was very knowledgeable on Medici history and the various works of art in the Palatine Gallery. She gave us plenty of information, even focusing on the various artists’ trademark styles without leaving us bored. You could tell that she was very learned in this subject and passionate about the subject matter, which made us feel more engaged too! She was able to answer questions very well. The tour of the Boboli gardens could have been skipped, in our opinion, but Roberta did make it interesting, giving us information on the history of the laurel leaf and what it signified in the time of the ancient Romans. We would have loved to see the fashion gallery that was displayed in the palace as well, as part of the tour. Overall, very happy with this tour and would definitely recommend!

Forget about the Palace itself, Maurizio Tocchioni of Florence Pass (our guide) was the main attraction of that tour. Never in my life, have I taken a tour of which I have enjoyed every second like this one & that's all because of Maurizio. Florence Pass is a tours operating family business run by Maurizio and his son. The passion he has for Florence and its history is evident in his explanation of every room of the palace and the Boboli Gardens. I cannot recommend this tour enough. If you are going to visit the palace for the first time or want to redicover it, make sure to go on a tour with Maurizio.

The FlorencePass tour was ideal. The group was small, about 7; we started early and thus avoided the larger crowds, and the guide, Roberta, was superb. She was not only knowledgeable, but also sincerely passionate about the subject matter. There was nothing “rote” about her presentation. I’m so glad I did this.
