We booked this tour because we didn’t buy tickets to the Academia Museum and needed a way in, we also wanted to learn a bit more about what we were looking at! The tour itself was great, our guide was wonderful knew a lot about the art and spoke about some really interesting topics. My only complaint was that the radios we used to listen to our guide were so low volume you had to stick it in your ear and hold it there tight to hear anything, and even then it was faint. Everyone in our group had this problem. The museum itself is noisy so, if you have trouble hearing good luck!

Loved the tour and the guide was very keen in getting us involved and helping us understand how we interpret art. There was some confusion on arrival with regard to how to get the ticket and enter the gallery. Although you book a specific time and skip the q, there is still a queue for the "skip the q".

Initially, there was a great deal of confusion at the meeting place as it seems the tour was overbooked. However, our guide, Julia, gathered her English-speaking group and their tickets, and proceeded with the tour. Julia was a fantastic guide, explaining how she was going to present the information so we could better appreciate David when we saw him. Even though we had seen David several times before, Julia offered new information about Michelangelo and his process. We gained new appreciation for his genius and the creation of David. This tour was well worth the extra expense as we did get to skip the main line, and we learned something new about David. Plus, we cannot rave enough about tour guide, Julia. She is enthusiastic, intelligent, and brings a wealth of additional information to the tour. She also speaks American English like a native, so the only struggle was keeping up with the pace of the information being presented. Fantastic!
