Hamburg: Reeperbahn, Port, & Fish Market Morning Tour

1. Hamburg: Reeperbahn, Port, & Fish Market Morning Tour

Experience Hamburg at sunrise on this exciting tour to the fish market. See the Elb Tunnel, ride on the harbor ferry, and explore this unique part of the port city. Start at the Reeperbahn as that area dies down from the night, cross over to the colorful Spielbudenplatz, and walk past Davidwache, a spot featured in various TV shows and movies. Proceed to the port and into the depths of the 100-year-old Elb Tunnel. Take a ride on the harbor ferry towards Finkenwerder, enjoying the fresh harbor air as you learn interesting facts about the Hamburg Harbor. Afterwards, walk along Großen Elbstraße, a street lined with gourmet restaurants as well as wholesale fish retailers. Stop at Schellfischposten, where the popular TV show “Inas Nacht” is filmed. Finally, wander the world-famous fish market. As your guide tells you interesting and entertaining stories about the Altona Fish Market, stroll through the alleyways and admire the fresh fish and other delicacies. Enjoy a coffee and typical Hamburg specialties with live music in the Fish Auction Hall, and get your Sunday off to a fun and relaxing start.

Our family (4 people) really enjoyed the guided tour with Melanie. According to the guide, the tour could only be adapted due to the corona. The information on the individual stages was very helpful and informative. The individual stations that we headed to from 5 a.m. were the Reeperbahn including the Kiez bakery, the old Elbe tunnel, landing bridges, a short port trip and, at the end, the fish market. The coffee and the Franzbrötchen at the beginning of the tour were worth their weight in gold.

A very interesting tour with lots of information about the neighborhood

Our tour guide did a really good job. It was worth it to get up so early (at 3 am). I'd recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn a bit about St. Pauli and how it was in the past, and who'd like to get to know the Fish market at 8 am.

A really great trip with lots of interesting information. Melanie guided us all through this tour with her witty, lively manner. Any time !!
