  Enjoy a cruise along the Algarve coast to the Benagil Caves where you'll have the opportunity to explore the caves by kayak. Your catamaran will depart from the Marina of Portimão.   We definitely underestimated how physically challenging this would be! I can’t remember all the guides names but they were all so friendly and helpful, one of them noticed my insulin pump and was absolutely amazing in making sure I was okay throughout. Would recommend this in a heartbeat not only for the tour/kayaking experience but more than anything for the gentlemen that work at seasiren tours!

  3. From Portimão: Catamaran Cruise to Benagil Caves with BBQ

  Depart from Portimão and pass by the pretty fishing village of Ferragudo and the historic castle that overlooks the beach. Cruise at ease towards the east and don’t forget your camera to capture the beautiful coastal scenery along the way. Head towards the grottoes at Benagil, where on small boats the tour will take you into different grottoes. Marvel at the natural rock formations and be transported to the beach, where you can soak in the sun. In the meantime, the crew prepares a delicious BBQ for you on the beach with bread, salad, mixed grill, red or white wine, water, orangeade.  Travel back while passing by some of the beautiful, secluded cove beaches around Carvoeiro.   Boarding at the Marina of Portimão, you will see the Castel of S.João do Arade and the fort of Stª Catarina from the Arade River, a unique perspective from the river to the city of Portimão. You will see beautiful beaches and caves, from Portimão through to Carvoeiro, passing Benagil all the way to the famous beach of Praia da Marinha.   Fantastic boat trip in the marvellous caves. The boat was a fast speed boat with only 11 seats so not so crowded like other larger boats we saw. The guide was friendly and informative in English and in Portuguese. The driver was very good and we even had a bonus of seeing dolphins on our way back.   From the pier of São Francisco in Portimão, you will board a boat. After a warm welcome, the safety procedures will be explained. Then, the journey towards the famous Benagil Cave will start. All the boats are equipped with radios that will be tuned in to the same channel as the dolphin watching boats.
