Full description
Experience a different side of Jamaica and discover that the country is so much more than a beach! Begin this full-day tour enjoying a scenic drive through the hills of Jamaica. Continue on through the hills of St. Elizabeth to what seems to be a small shop on the side of a long country road. You’ll board a jitney that will take you through a forest into a landscape of waterfalls surrounded by lush gardens and magnificent trees. There are 7 waterfalls in all, several of which cascade into natural pools. Lifeguards on site will indicate which areas are open for swimming. There is a natural pool that’s fed by underground and above-ground springs that is suitable for children and those not able to swim. Once you leave this tropical oasis your tour continues to the Black River on the south coast. Stop en route for a local Jamaican lunch before boarding the boat for a nature expedition on Jamaica's longest river. As you cruise the Black River, you’ll see native wildlife, including various species of birds and the Jamaican crocodile. At the end of the boat tour you’ll board the bus for the scenic drive back to Jamaica’s north coast.

Jamaica; no problem!

We had originally booked the combo with Appleton Estates, but this was not available- instead we were offered a very small group with a wonderful guide Julian who was multilingual and switched back and forth from French to English with ease, and and incredible driver Michael, (Jamaican roads are craaasy!) My partner was talking to them a bit about traditional Jamaican food and they pulled over twice for us to experience different aspects ('bad akee mon'- wasn't ripe, so is poisonous; and crayfish!) We went 1st to Ys, which is an amazing set of falls, this is a great place for people of all abilities and we had a guide up the falls and to use the rope swings for just the two of us, who catered to our abilities to get the best out of the experience! Then we headed to the Black River delta, where we had a traditional lunch of Jerk chicken, rice with beans, and beef in brown sauce. Out onto the river, we were told about the Croc reserve- only 300 left wild, and we saw three that day!

Waterfalls nice, tour provider bad

We booked the tour from MoBay. Unfortunately we still had to pick up participants in Negril. That was more than 3 hours detour !!! There was no response to my direct request whether anyone else could pick up the participants in Negril. I asked for contact details where I could complain - there was also no answer. When we got to the waterfalls we got another guide - however, this was not waiting for us so that we already lost our 6 tour members in the first 5 minutes. The waterfalls were very nice. After we had all changed again at the behest, it was suddenly said that we still had 40 minutes - that was of course too late and met with incomprehension from the entire group. Lunch and boat tour were good. The stay at the waterfalls could have been longer. Despite the 3 hours detour, we did not reach the specified 12 hours. Our driver was very rude and gruff. A real shame
