Negril: Beach Visit, Times Square, and Sunset at Rick's Café

1. Negril: Beach Visit, Times Square, and Sunset at Rick's Café

Spend a full day taking in the best of Negril: hang out on the beach, browse the shopping center, and go cliff-jumping at Rick's. Start your day with a drive along Jamaica’s beautiful north-western coastline, which takes you past rural villages and the Lucea Harbor, to arrive at Negril’s famous beach. The Seven Mile Beach is a gorgeous stretch of sugar-white sand and bright turquoise water. Here you'll have 3 to 4 hours of free time at the beach to enjoy as you please: go swimming, sunbathing, or visit a beach bar for snacks and drinks. Next, head with your guide to Times Square, a popular Negril shopping center where you can look for souvenirs and gifts at a variety of shops. During your 1 hour here, browse the selection of duty-free goods like jewelry and watches, as well as Jamaican items like rum, coffee, cigars, and textiles. Restaurants and snack bars are also available if you get hungry or thirsty. Finish your Negril experience with a 1-hour stop at Rick’s Café, the area’s iconic bluff-top restaurant where visitors line up to jump from the cliffs into the clear sea below. Take part in the action or just watch—it’s up to you. Purchase an ice-cold beer or a cocktail and settle in to watch the Negril sunset.

Dunn's River Falls and Ocho Rios Scenic Tour

3. Dunn's River Falls and Ocho Rios Scenic Tour

Go to Dunn's River Falls Park on a scenic sightseeing tour, and watch the cascading waters of one of Jamaica’s national treasures just a stone’s throw from Ocho Rios. Following your pick-up in Ocho Rios or Falmouth, enjoy the short 10-minute uphill drive to Dunn's River Falls, and then follow the path and stairway to the base. Said to be the location of the legendary Battle of Las Chorreras of 1657, the Falls found new fame as a location in the James Bond blockbuster movie “Dr No.” Those looking for adventure can climb the natural steps and crevices. Dunn’s River guides are available to help you along the way. It can also be completed without a guide for those with more experience and confidence, though it should be noted that it’s a challenging climb. Water shoes or sandals are essential, and can be rented if you don’t have your own. For those who prefer, there are several points on the adjoining path where you can access the river with ease. Enjoy the pulsating flow of water over your body without having to climb. Your exhilarating massage from Mother Nature will spur you on to the top. Take a brief tour of the countryside surrounding Ocho Rios, including the rainforest of Fern Gully. Then, enjoy some free time at the craft markets, or stock up on duty free items at the city center malls. If time allows, continue to Island Village for more shopping and a glass of something refreshing at Jimmy Buffett's famous Margaritaville Bar and Restaurant. Tours are designed to be flexible and cater to your groups needs. You might want to try some jerk chicken or other Jamaican specialty, or enjoy a bit of beach time to relax and swim. Your guide will allow time for photo opportunities, and is open to any requests you may have.
