1. Jamaica: YS Falls and Black River Safari Day Tour

Experience a different side of Jamaica and discover that the country is so much more than a beach! Begin this full-day tour enjoying a scenic drive through the hills of Jamaica. Continue on through the hills of St. Elizabeth to what seems to be a small shop on the side of a long country road. You’ll board a jitney that will take you through a forest into a landscape of waterfalls surrounded by lush gardens and magnificent trees. There are 7 waterfalls in all, several of which cascade into natural pools. Lifeguards on site will indicate which areas are open for swimming. There is a natural pool that’s fed by underground and above-ground springs that is suitable for children and those not able to swim. Once you leave this tropical oasis your tour continues to the Black River on the south coast. Stop en route for a local Jamaican lunch before boarding the boat for a nature expedition on Jamaica's longest river. As you cruise the Black River, you’ll see native wildlife, including various species of birds and the Jamaican crocodile. At the end of the boat tour you’ll board the bus for the scenic drive back to Jamaica’s north coast.

Appleton Estate Rum Tour from Montego Bay

3. Appleton Estate Rum Tour from Montego Bay

Deep in the heart of Jamaica’s lush countryside is the heaven of rum: the Nassau Valley. Here lies the legendary Appleton Estate, where water is filtered by nature’s hand as it percolates for miles through unmapped limestone hills and flows into the Appleton Estate spring. In this warm, verdant setting, Appleton Estate has been perfecting the art of making handcrafted rum for over 260 years. During the fermentation process, the sugar cane molasses and a special culture of yeast combine with exceptionally soft water, filtered the limestone hills of the Cockpit Country and giving Appleton Estate Jamaican rums their unique character, taste and aroma. Spend some time learning about the unique fermentation process and sample some freshly pressed cane juice and “wet sugar” before you sit down for the main tour attraction: 10 different types of Jamaica rum liquors to sample from. The kicker is a complimentary bottle of rum for every visitor to take home and enjoy.

What people are saying about Falmouth, Jamaica

Jamaica; no problem!

We had originally booked the combo with Appleton Estates, but this was not available- instead we were offered a very small group with a wonderful guide Julian who was multilingual and switched back and forth from French to English with ease, and and incredible driver Michael, (Jamaican roads are craaasy!) My partner was talking to them a bit about traditional Jamaican food and they pulled over twice for us to experience different aspects ('bad akee mon'- wasn't ripe, so is poisonous; and crayfish!) We went 1st to Ys, which is an amazing set of falls, this is a great place for people of all abilities and we had a guide up the falls and to use the rope swings for just the two of us, who catered to our abilities to get the best out of the experience! Then we headed to the Black River delta, where we had a traditional lunch of Jerk chicken, rice with beans, and beef in brown sauce. Out onto the river, we were told about the Croc reserve- only 300 left wild, and we saw three that day!

It was a fantastic experience, our guide made us feel very safe. As well as being very skilled at piloting the raft down river and gave us facts and history about Jamaica and it’s nature . And the raft ride was really fun and entertaining. I would recommend this everyone visiting Jay

Mr Brown is a very experienced guide, he was polite, considerate and explained places and events in great detail, he is also a very good driver. I would recommend his service anytime.

We were picked up on time, the driver was very nice, we have now made the excursion for the second time, anytime again! Top recommendation

Driver was fantastic! Tours were fun and exciting. My only issue is that it could have been a little longer.
