Montego Bay City and Rose Hall Haunted House Tour

1. Montego Bay City and Rose Hall Haunted House Tour

Get acquainted with Jamaica's second city on a tour of Montego Bay, known to locals as 'Mobay." Discover a mix of old and new as you learn the city's rich history. Pass through downtown to see how the locals live and journey through narrow streets watching street vendors, school children and the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Go to the "Hip Strip" before visiting the residential area of Ironshore, where you will get a first-hand experience of Jamaican residences, from small homes to extraordinary mansions. Grab the chance to do some souvenir shopping at stops where you can purchase coffee, rum and spices. Then, as the sun sets, visit the home of Annie Palmer, known as the "White Witch of Rose Hall." Follow your guide on a candlelit tour through the haunted house, learning its history. Listen to the floors creak beneath your feet as the former plantation comes alive to Annie's story. She famously killed her 3 husbands and countless lovers before being murdered in the house, which she continues to haunt to this day. Watch out for ghosts, including Annie herself! You then have the option to continue to the Luminous Lagoon to see the microscopic organisms that emit a phosphorescent light when the water is agitated. Shortly after sunset, board a boat that will take you across the lagoon, and marvel at the effects as the water is disturbed. Stop for a swim to experience the miracle of seeing your body glow! This is only available in 3 locations on the planet and is a must see in Jamaica.

Falmouth: Historic Sightseeing Tour

2. Falmouth: Historic Sightseeing Tour

Your historic Falmouth sightseeing tour will take you on a brief highlights tour of the town of Falmouth. Founded by Thomas Reid in 1769, Falmouth flourished as a market center and port for forty years, at a time when Jamaica was the world's leading sugar producer. It was named after Falmouth Cornwall in England, the birthplace of Sir William Trelawny the Governor of Jamaica who was instrumental in its establishment. The town was meticulously planned from the start, with wide streets in a regular grid, adequate water supplies, and public buildings. It even had piped water before New York City! You will stop at St. Peters Anglican Church built in 1795, before seeing the Falmouth All-Age School which is housed in a former army barracks, Fort Balcarres. You will later stop at the Old Court House, before visiting the William Knibb Memorial to see the fastest man in the world, Usain Bolt's High School. Later, spend the rest of your time at a private white-sand beach club at the Doctor's Cave.

Experience Jamaica by Night!

5 star !!!!! Loved having the option of doing The night time Rose Hall tour and Luminous Lagoon as a package-(didn't find that available anywhere else!). Our guide Jr. gave us the Jamaica experience and took us on a great Montego Bay city tour. Excellent value all the way and the car was very comfortable with great music!. As 2 middle aged women (Karen & Karen) traveling alone we always felt safe with him. Highly recommend this must do Jamaica experience !!!!!!

I had heard the story of the white witch of Rose Hall many times but this tour was so much more than the short version I knew. It was wonderful hearing the full story while touring the great and experiencing the history. The tour guide was very engaging. The transport to and from the location was exceptional. Our driver was knowledgeable about the area. Definitely recommend this tour to learn about the history and culture of Jamaica.
