We booked this tour with an english speaking guide to make sure we understood what we were seeing. Well worth it. You could try doing it independently but you would miss so much information. Our guide Olga arrived and was excellent from the very outset. Her knowledge and passion for the tour was exceptional. Peter and Paul fortress excellent, followed by church of the spilled blood and onto St Isaac cathedral. Although we were the only two on the tour we found Olga made us feel like a member of her own family when it came to stop for a traditional russian lunch. When it came to the highlight of the tour which was the Hermitage museum this is where the expert guide Olga made the tour worth every penny. Her knowledge as we said earlier was brilliant. Booking through Get your guide was the first time we have booked experiences online but will definitely be using this website in the future. Rob and Vanessa Newell

Eggs of the Tsar, and more!

This week we had the joy of touring the Faberge Museum in St Petersburg using a Get Your Guide tour group named Tsar Visit and a tour guide named Alexandra Mamontova. Tsar Visit was prompt and professional...emailing me with the guide’s name and meeting details. Alexandra was prompt and professional. She greeted us in the designated meeting spot in a timely manner and was very organized. Her descriptions of the museum, the eggs, history, and the other museum pieces were outstanding. She knew all the details about each piece and discussed each item thoroughly. I had not realized that the museum would have additional pieces other than the actual eggs. It was very nice to learn so much about Faberge and the history the eggs, dishes, belt buckles, clocks, and more! The museum has a cloak room, free storage lockers, a coffee shop, a gift store, and permits photography without flash. We were delighted to have Alexandra as a guide and highly recommend her.
