  • See a variety of flora and fauna in Florida's beautiful Everglades National Park
  • Float through this unique ecosystem on creeks, lakes, and through mangrove jungles
Full description
The Everglades area is home to a vast and varied ecosystem containing the largest mangrove forest in North America. The unique Everglades lakes, surrounded by mangroves, are refuges and nursery grounds for herons, egrets, stilts, ducks, wood storks, spoonbills, alligators, otters, and a variety of cute little fish. The Everglades National Park Mangrove Tunnel Kayak Eco-Tour takes you inside the unique mangrove ecosystem in a stable "sit-on-top" kayak (no previous experience required). Weave through the interconnecting, narrow lakes and flowing tidal creeks. Float through tunnels in the mangrove forest, created by the dense mangrove growth up the edges and even over the tops of the interlocking creeks and narrow lakes. The mangrove tunnels make for a surreal and mystical experience with the sunlight shimmering through the canopy, the stillness of the forest vegetation and the sounds of the forest itself. Enjoy learning a wealth of information on the colorful local history of Everglades National Park and its wonderful wildlife and flora.

Guides Ryan and Chandra were very knowledgeable about the Everglades fauna and flora as well as local lore on the Indigenous peoples like the Calusa tribe. They were very helpful coaching us on how to maneuver our kayaks through the narrow waterways and mangrove areas of the Glades.

We spent a wonderful forenoon in the two seated kayak seeing alligators (ca. 8-10), a turtle, a lot seldom plants etc. Our guide was Don who loves the nature and owns an immense amount of knowledge which he loved to share with us. Highly recommended since it was an amazing experience be that deep in nature.

Our guide, Will, was so kind and helpful! He tailored the tour to what we wanted and was extremely knowledgeable. We saw so much wildlife including: alligators, snakes, turtles, and various birds. Will also taught us so much about the various plants native to the Everglades!
