  • From Catania: Mount Etna Sunset Tour

    1. From Catania: Mount Etna Sunset Tour

This beautiful sunset tour of the famed Etna volcano is truly a must-see. Begin with a stop in Zafferana Etna, a little town on the Eastern side Mount Etna, popular for its honey production. Visit one of the town's most famous organic farms for a delicious sampling of typical local products, including honey and wine. Continue on the tour to a lava cave created during the 1792 eruption, and enter the stunning site to learn about lava flow and the forces that create them. Then stroll along the mountain trails to Mount Etna's Sapienza Refuge, and enjoy a pleasant walk around the lava flows created from the latest eruptions and the ancient Silvestri craters dating back to the 1892 eruption. From this supreme peak, watch the sun set over the breathtaking landscape before returning to your hotel in the evening.

Great trip! The guide online didn’t say to bring warm clothes. The honey spot was a little weird as they didn’t offer wine like the guide online stated and it was very quick stop. The cave was cool as well, but the sunset at the crater was amazing!

  • Full-Day Etna and Wine Tour from Catania

    2. Full-Day Etna and Wine Tour from Catania

This day trip begins with a drive up to Rifugio Sapienza, with stops at viewpoints en route. The guide will provide commentary on the volcano's history and point out sites of previous eruptions. Trek along one of the nature paths up to 2,000 meters or take the Etna high altitude option. For the high altitude option, ride a cable car and special 4x4 minibus to Torre del Filosofo, at 2,900 meters. Afterwards, explore a lava cave, equipped with a helmet and flashlight. The final stop will be at one of the area’s top wineries, with a tasting session that includes a sparkling wine and 4 still wines. During the tasting session, enjoy local cold cuts, cheeses, pate and olive oil.

Danilo our guide was great! He was really nice and welcoming, explained a lot and gave us recommendations for the rest of our visit in Catania. The added value of this tour was the easy pick-up and the vineyard visit with tasting of great wines. Now with covid they don't accept visitors that are not part of a private tour, so it was a great opportunity (and the tastings are actually quite a big lunch). the cave was nice but a bit underwhelming. We paid additional 67 euros pp to go the the max altitude allowed (2750).

  • From Catania: Private Mount Etna Trek

    3. From Catania: Private Mount Etna Trek

Enjoy a hike along one of the lesser-followed trails on Mount Etna and discover the region's spectacular wildlife. After getting picked up from your hotel in Catania, head to the trailhead and begin your trek. See everything from lush woods to volcanic deserts. Admire some of the local flora (such as poplars, beeches, birches, chestnuts, oaks and pine trees) and fauna (such as buzzards, hawks, eagles, foxes, wild rabbits) of the volcano. During the hike, stop for a short picnic lunch composed of local products. Finish your trek with a visit to a lava cave and explore the cave with the torches and helmets provided.

What people are saying about Etna Park

Our guided tour was absolutely amazing and a must if you are visiting Catania. Our guide Angelo was very kind and told us all about Catania and of course most importantly, Etna. The trip to the organic honey farm was a nice stop to learn a bit more about the local products in Catania. Only thing that didn't happen was the wine tasting, kind off forget about it myself to be honest. We spend enough time at Etna and got to take amazing pictures. But most importantly, we had plenty of time to take in the incredible views.

Great trip! The guide online didn’t say to bring warm clothes. The honey spot was a little weird as they didn’t offer wine like the guide online stated and it was very quick stop. The cave was cool as well, but the sunset at the crater was amazing!

Very knowledgeable and friendly guide. we tasted the flavors of Etna and lived a unique experience. The walk on the side craters was very pleasant and not at all difficult to deal with. Definitely an experience worth doing!

Great discovery! A very nice guide who speaks good French and English and who gives you lots of information about Etna and the towns on our route. The tasting of local products is also nice.

Nice experience, made even more great by the guide Giuseppe! Too bad the rain that spoiled the view from the top a bit.
