Day 1:

Starting from JR Ueno Station at 8:30AM, your guide will have you board the bus in which you will begin your journey to Nagano. Your first stop is Kawagoe, a small pocket of Saitama renowned for its preservation of Edo Period buildings. Arriving to Kawagoe at approximately 10:00AM, your guide will arrange a meeting time and place and then set you free to explore for yourself. Your next stop is the scenic mountain town of Karuizawa. Arriving at around 1:00PM, you’ll head straight to Harunire Terrace for lunch. Surrounded by elm trees and with a mountain river running alongside the terrace, it’s the perfect place to enjoy lunch before exploring the area for yourself.

You will then meet up with your guide at around 3:00PM, at which point it will be time to keep moving to the nearby Mt. Asama, one of Japan’s most active volcanoes. Arriving at 3:30PM, the tour includes entry to Onioshidashi Park, a remarkable natural rock garden decorated with huge black lava boulders which were ejected from the volcano during its last major eruption in 1873. At 5:00PM you will board the tour bus and begin your journey toward Nagano City where the tour is scheduled to end at 7:00PM with drop off at your accommodation.

Day 2:

Having enjoyed breakfast at your hotel, your guide will meet you in the lobby at 9:10AM, from where you will head to Zenko-ji. As a registered National Treasure, the temple is the most important cultural site in Nagano, and one of the oldest and most important Buddhist temples in the entire country.

At 12:00PM it will be time for lunch. Depending on the time of year your guides will use different restaurants, each serving the best of Nagano's food culture. It will then be time to head out of Nagano, as you are transported to the Snow Monkey Park. Your guide will introduce these truly curious creatures, before providing you with some time to enjoy the unique experience of observing them in close proximity before your tour concludes for the day.

Day 3:

The final day begins a little earlier than the last, with pickup from your hotel being conducted at 8:20AM. After boarding your tour bus, you will make your way to the Suntory Hakushu Distillery. Located in the picturesque Hakushu, you will join a tour of the distillery as well as the on-site museum. Following the tour, you will enjoy lunch at the restaurant at the site.

At around 2:00PM, the tour will arrive to the Itchiku Kubota Art Museum. Established in 1994, the museum was positioned to provide visitors a spectacular view of Mt. Fuji, and also houses the permanent collection of artist Itchiku Kubota. From the museum it will be a short journey to your final stop, Arakurayama Sengen Park. You will arrive at 2:45PM, at which point you will discover that this park has the best viewing spots for Mt. Fuji. At the conclusion of your third day, your tour will end at Ueno Station.
