What people are saying about Zaandam

Great experience and very friendly host!

The whole event was great from the beginning to the end. Bart, the owner of the scooters first explained us the possible five routes and gave some recommendations, while having a cup of coffee. Afterwards we had a short "training session" on the yard to make sure that we understood how to operate the scooters and felt safe driving them. When everything was looking good we left off to our tour, which was really nice: We could explore the beautiful landscape in our own pace and pause whenever we wanted. To not get lost we had gotten a map of the route and there were guiding arrow stickers at every lamp post or traffic sign where it makes sense (i.e. when the road reaches a crossroad or you have to leave the current road). After we arrived back we had another cup of coffee and some nice words with Bart, the owner. We can definitely recommend this activity to anyone who would like to explore the beautiful countryside, but does not like to do such a long trip (about 40-50 km) by bike.

A fun-filled alternative to your typical Amsterdam attractions

While visiting Amsterdam, if you are looking for a fun alternative to the hustle-bustle and congestion of city life, seriously consider The Scooter Experience located in the suburbia town of Landsmeer. The Scooter Experience offers you the chance to venture out and see the Dutch countryside on an electric scooter, noise free, at your own pace along established picturesque trails and bike paths. I found it enchanting to be able to sail pass the beautiful idyllic farms, lakes, meadows and quaint small towns while enjoying the fresh country air that the North Holland province has to offer. The owner Bart was the perfect host. He made sure that I was well prepared for my journey before setting off. I opted for a four hour itinerary which was enough time to enjoy, absorb and appreciate the scenery and the friendly locals I met along the way.

Bart, the owner, was very responsive in his communication and very welcoming when he picked us up from our hotel. We were given a preview of how to ride the scooter and also the route we were going to take. He has a link he can send you so you can see the route on Google maps which is super helpful. He provided a drink before we took off and one when we came back which was really nice. The scooters are electric and super quiet. We felt very safe. The route was so much fun. We went to see the windmills and had a blast touring the countryside. The windmills were enjoyable to see but the highlight was being able to scooter around and stop for lunch and coffee at various locations of our choosing. Highly recommend and we plan to go back and try a different route next time.

Overall, a very friendly, knowledgeable local guide!

I was lucky enough to have the guide all to myself. I arrived at the station a little early and he met me, and off we went! Kinito was well-prepared with extra materials to help me understand the history of Zaanse Schans, and was very enthusiastic and accommodating. Our tour went a little over the 75 minutes, which I enjoyed because we took our time walking and learning. He also seems to have a good relationship with all the local places we visited. I had plenty of time after to explore on my own, and he even sent me off with recommendations. I loved the clog making demonstration. Overall, a very friendly, knowledgeable local that made the whole experience super fun. Would recommend for sure!

Great way to explore the country side near Amsterdam

Very nice. Great way to explore the country side near Amsterdam. The scooter are easy to handle, the round trip is good to find. You will have a good map on your scooter and there are a lot of marks on the way. So it is easy to follow. We visit a lot on our trip. Beautiful villages, a old gothic tower, a light house, harbors, the Ijsslemeer. We had a good lunch and coffee and apple cake. It was a great day. Thanks to Bart!
