What people are saying about York Minster
We felt so fortunate to have Alfred take us on a private tour. He is very knowledgeable and was so kind to allow time for our queries. Our tour actually went over the allotted time (because we wanted to know more, and asked a lot of questions, etc.) Alfred was very gracious and didn't seem to mind this. We can't express enough how special it is to have an expert tour guide take you around the marvelous city of York. There are very few places that exist where one can stand in one spot and learn about 2000 years worth of history just by turning around in a circle and noting every thing around you. But you need an expert to point all those special things out. *Ask for Alfred, you will be so pleased! :)
We went on an evening walking tour in York with Alfred and his wife Sarah in July 2018. Alfred was extremely well informed about the history and architecture of York, and is passionate about his town. He took us on a relaxed but fascinating tour through the highways, byways and snickleways of the historical centre of the town, with a multitude of stories that brought that history to life. The two hours seemed to pass very quickly and we were left with a much more comprehensive view of York's 2000 year history.
We bought them on my phone, but then had to go to the tourist informtion to get the cards.
