What people are saying about York
The text we received acknowledging the booking gave clear instructions where to meet our guide. We were met with a pleasant smile and welcome, and it just got better. Alfred knows a lot about York and it’s history. We enjoyed the tour, which covered a small area of the city (not too much walking) and highly recommend it as an excellent and fun way to see York’s central historical sights.
Really enjoyed the tour, our guide was engaging and fun and you get to taste your way through it. I really loved how interactive it is and it suits all ages. My daughter went there on a school trip and enjoyed it so much she wanted to go again on our visit to York. Don't miss out on the history of chocolate that is part of York's past and present.
Sarah gave our small group a warm welcome and lead us to places we would never have discovered ourselves giving us a detailed history of each place we visited . We all learnt so much about York it’s history , people , industries in the past and now a days from this exceptionally knowledgable lady . All in all it could not be faulted .
This tour was led by a knowledgeable and friendly gentleman who was obviously passionate about the history and archaeology of York. He brought together the important events of English history as it affected and influenced the development of York from Roman times to the present day. Well done indeed.
Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and showed us places off the beaten track that we would otherwise have missed. Some of these places and buildings we returned to after the walk had finished. Very enjoyable and I would recommend this Guided walk to any visitors to this amazing city.
