What people are saying about York
The minibus was a bit early, so we made a good start, first stop was Helmsley where we had about 40 minutes, just time to have a good look round and buy some Curd tarts (which we both love!), then on to Whitby with a photo stop on the moors. Fish & Chips and Ice cream lunch and some photos of the harbour. The on to Goathland for the Steam train and a look round the Heartbeat sites. On to Pickering by Steam train and then back to York with a short photo stop at an old ruined Abbey. Back by 5.00pm - great value day.
Really enjoyed the tour, our guide was engaging and fun and you get to taste your way through it. I really loved how interactive it is and it suits all ages. My daughter went there on a school trip and enjoyed it so much she wanted to go again on our visit to York. Don't miss out on the history of chocolate that is part of York's past and present.
Has to be done what a wonderful day we had and saw so much in the time we had could not have done this on our own amazing countryside and superb little villages. Peter our guide was exceptional and so informative. Will do this again when in York. First class.
Our guide was excellent - he was very knowledgeable, very informative, very friendly, and very accomodating. The coach was comfortable, and the driver was faultless. All together, a very enjoyable day out, at a good price.
Never knew such a little gem was in York. My only suggestion is the chocolate shop due to size of area is limited. Bigger shop bigger selection i.e. bags of single finger all flavours Kit Kat
