What people are saying about Windermere
When Tim arrived at the meeting point at King Street, he smiled and said "it's just you today, so we're off!" The tour could have easily been cancelled, so greatly appreciated that they honored the booking! Tim is incredibly knowledgable about the entire area and history, and the many layers that play into the Lake District and the sites we visited. My brother-in-law grew up in the Lake District, and appreciated Tim's perspective and information - as well as the times he would stand back and just let me drink in the scenery. We were able to accomplish so much in a day but it didn't feel rushed. Thank you for such a wonderful introduction to the lakes and villages - we'll be back and for the Beatrix Potter tour!
I read the reviews prior to booking my tour, i can assure you it was excellent, even on a rainy day... wow. Clear, informative commentary through-out; talking about the historic events etc and the destinations are very well structured showing awesome views across the Lakes. You have plenty of stops to take photos and a lunch hour in Keswick, what more could you ask for? The boat ride was a great laugh too with an odd shower of water for front seat passengers hahaha. The views of the area are stunning. and i would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who visits the lakes, a grand day out and a SPECTACULAR host-driver Anne was a star. An unforgettable experience, thank you.
We could not have imagined a more knowledgeable and accommodating guide as Phil. He tailored our tour to meet our specific interests in literary figures. His pleasure in sharing his unique details of the authors’ biographies and their creative processes brought their lives and their contributions to our culture alive for us. We recommend him to anyone who wants their experience to live on.
Our tour guide was friendly from the moment we met which helped make the day run well. Despite the rain at the beginning we made the most of the day. My only regret was not having more time at Muncaster castle. Otherwise all the other stops were relaxed and enjoyable, and very very beautiful.
Very well organized, there is plenty of time for every activity. With the excellent information from guide Phil, you get a clear view on the different activities on which Beatrix Potter excelled. And a great day on the most beautiful scenery.
