What people are saying about Western Cape

Both the township tour and Robbens island were incredible.

What wasn't great was that there was an issue with our tickets the night before. Our driver, Sam, didn't make us aware of the issue until after the township tour and resigned to the fact that we just weren't going to be able to go to Robbens. We were told none of our geoup of 12s tickets were paid for and we would be dropped off at our hotels. That was completely unacceptable to my group of 4. We told Sam we wanted to go to the ticketing office at V&A and discuss our tickets with someone else. After much back and forth, the tickets "magically appeared." We went to the ticketing office. They were unable to accommodate us on our original 1pm ferry and were moved to 3pm. The change in time did effect other plans that we had, which we were not happy about.

Perfect way to take in what Stellenbosch has to offer!

We visited Stellenbosch for just two days and booked this tour to get a good sense of what Stellenbosch was like and take in some scenery and history. The tour delivered on every aspect. Our host Sevvo was informative, personable and charismatic! We had lovely weather and tour took us through the history of the town and out to two beautiful vineyards. We sampled some wine and learnt a lot about the local wine making processes and history. We couldn't have asked for more and would recommend this tour for people of all ages and abilities!

Fascinating, sobering, saddening, optimistic experience

I remember the dreadful days of apartheid and reading about the sentences given to brave people who fought for basic civil rights in their own homeland. I’m proud that an Australian Prime Minister, Bob Hawke, was instrumental in the embargoes that helped finally break this hideous regime. Mandela was but one of the heroic souls who endured and the wives and children knew tremendous suffering too. A sobering, saddening but ultimately inspiring experience.

Interesting tour of the penal island and prison.

Tour combined a boat trip from Cape Town with a bus tour of the island and a foot tour of the prison where Nelson Mandela was held for most of his life. The prison tour led by a former political prisoner. The tour is a must for all believers in personal liberty and democracy. It gives an insight into the life of the man who gave up so much for the freedom of his people, and did so much to bring his country together.

Everything went well however very much over priced

Too expensive! Face value of the Robbenisland ticket is 360 Rand, approx. € 22,50. We paid €98,06 for 2 tickets. An uber ride from hotel to the ferry is about €4,00. So the real expences were €49,00. Shame on the broker. The Robbenisland tour was excellent! But that is not the broker doing that!
