What people are saying about Wellington
Laura, the guide, was fun and had loads of interesting tidbits of lotr filming information. We had plenty time to take pictures of locations and also got great views over wellington. Weta workshop was really interesting you get to see all the models and props up close and the guide is full of information. I loved the gift shop!!
Thanks to our guide for a very informative and knowledgeable tour a great day out. On time at pick up zone loved the extra information about Wellington and it history. Well done weta works team...!!!
It was well worth it to buy tickets for an early admission. Would perhaps have liked a bit more time before the crowd came in behind us. Would have been prepared to go an extra half hour earlier.
Thoroughly enjoyed tour with our guide Kate who was friendly, enthusiastic and very knowledgeable about LOTR and the Hobbit. Even though all building sets have been removed from film locations (except Rivendell), Kate was able to explain the scenes shot through use of film clips and photos. Plenty of time for photo opportunities with fun props (eg. Legolas’ cloak and bow and arrow, the ring) as were in a group of 3 in morning and 7 in afternoon. Paid additional $28 for 40 minute WETA Workshop tour which was a little underwhelming. Enjoyed first half of tour with guide Kevin who was good but then he had to quickly go through second half as he was running behind schedule. Save your money and have a look the displays in the WETA Cave and mini museum instead.
Top notch - gave a great idea of layout of museum - not to be missed Thanks, Basil
