What people are saying about Wat Phra That Doi Suthep
We were pick up by Tui and driver, and we were treated to a wonderful drive up the mountain. We really enjoyed the experience in the Hill Tribe Village were we go to meet some of the people there and enjoyed a wonderful cup of local coffee, after being given all the information about the people from Tui. From there we went to the temple were Tui had a lot of information to tell us about the history and significance about the temple. It was a little busy when we go there, but the people started to leave and at around 7pm there were every little people there, just before the monks started to chant. It was an amazing experience all round and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
I loved that I got a confirmation email the day before. Our guide, Ek, was so enthusiastic and friendly. Even though we went to a “market” area he never pressured us to buy anything and appeared to have genuine relationships with some of the villagers. He was knowledgeable about anything we asked and was so kind and accommodating to our 5 year old. Our driver expertly navigated the narrow roads and hills. I would definitely recommend this trip and this company. On time pickup and drop off, clear a/c van and a great guide made it an excellent value.
This trip was well organised. The guide M was very knowledgeable and was only too willing to answer all questions. The trip started with a trip to see the Hmong tribe in their natural habitat. Very interesting to learn about their history and the Opium story. Next we went to Doi Sutherland. Temple was busy and interesting, with M giving much information. A very enjoyable trip
There needs to be more time allotted for shopping. Or tell people to buy things when they first walk through the mountain top vendors. We would have bought considerably more items but there just wasn't the time. Also we were led to believe there would be a more extensive history about the opium trade. We only saw a few plants and that was it.
Ek was an exceptional good and well informed guide. Very friendly and the whole day funny and in excellent mood! He gave a lot of additional information about region and culture. He really seems to love his job and coundn’t do It better. Absolutely perfect and 100% recommended! Thx a lot!!! Silvia and Roland from Munich
