What people are saying about Wachau Valley

In every respect an excellent trip with a great guide.

My wife and I have never had such an excellent guide on the many excursions we’ve taken as Jan (and I hope I’m spelling his name properly). His knowledge of Vienna, the Wachau Valley, Austria and Europe in general was fantastic. The Melk Abbey was very impressive and we enjoyed our tour, but I have to say we had the most fun at the wineries we visited, the first which Jan hosted and the second, larger winery which was, in its own way, equally impressive. Jan went beyond the call of duty and helped me search for my lost gloves. Five stars all the way.

Fantastic, informative & hugely enjoyable

Our guide James was superb, very knowledgable & personable. We met some great people, saw some great places & drank some perfectly great wines too.

Great Wine Tour in the Beautiful Wachau Valley

Our tour guide, Grant provided a clear overview of the arrangements for the day. If you sit on the top of the train there's great views of the villages and countryside. The bikes are good quality and there are a range of sizes to suit all. The majority of the tour uses cycle lanes, so there is very little cycling completed on the roads. The pace of the ride was perfect and relaxed. Enjoyable cycling through the vineyards and villages. It's nice having the tour guide provide information about the wine and areas at the two wineries, with no pressure to buy any wine. It was a very informal and enjoyable day.

Superb guide, really well organised and great value for money

Our guide, James, was really great and made the trip such a memorable day. The route you go on is not a hugely demanding cycle but takes in some breathtaking scenery from Domäne Wachau. You only visit two vineyards, but actually it's plenty and gives you an opportunity to spend a little more time in the beautiful Dürnstein. The organised lunch was excellent. My only regret is not bringing swimming stuff as the river was really inviting. If you're spending more than a couple of days in Vienna, I highly recommend this as a day trip to get out of the city and see some of the Austrian landscape.

Hands down one of the nost awesome events that i hv done in Vienna.

Jan is an awesome tour guide. Very knowledgable, easy going and he made everyone very comfortable and feel taken care of. This is not an easy task as we are a large group of 16. The view along the way is spectacular. Weather is hot, but we managed to have a great day! Couldn't thank Jan, our Viking tour guide, enough.
