Well, what can I say. Marco’s extremely enjoyable, entertaining and knowledgeable Amsterdam bicycle tour was the highlight of our two weeks in Europe. With so many people riding bicycles in Amsterdam, we did not know what to expect. Riding with Marco for the three hours taught us a lot about Amsterdam. The ride not only allowed us learn a lot of the Amsterdam history, but also gave us the confidence and experience of riding the bicycle in Amsterdam. The next day we rented the bicycles and rode them for 8-9 hours. I highly recommend the tour before heading out on your own. Thank you so much Marco for the entertaining and knowledgeable tour. We picked up the bikes from Amster Bikes, and joined a group (6 of us in total) along with guide David. David is absolutely brilliant. I wish I’d have done this 3hr bike tour on my 1st day and not the 3rd. He is a wealth of information and knowledge...I learnt more in the first 15min than I had on two other tours. His English is outstanding...and he is the double of the late great Robin Williams...even down to his humour. We had a young rider in the group, and he was extremely patient and even praised her effort and ability at the end. I’d have paid double for this tour...ask for a tour with David!
On the downside. It said to get there 15 minutes early cause they wouldn’t wait for late comers. So we get there 15 minutes early. Then we ended up waiting until 25 minutes after are start time to get going cause a family was late. So for us, a 40 minute wait to get going that could have been spent seeing even more of Amsterdam.
The bike tour was very good, the lady showed us all around Amsterdam and it's definitely worth doing especially at the start of your stay as they show you all the best places to visit in the next days of your stay!
Despite the pouring rain, Matt, our guide, made the tour fun and of course interesting. Brilliant way to get a feel for the city and to understand the culture... felt like locals (actually, wish we were!!).
