What people are saying about Vilnius
Because of the flexible itinerary it was possible to adapt the sights to the number of expected traffic for festivities in Kaunas. Starting with sad history of the Nazi regime killing about 100000 people from Vilnius and just burying the remains in the Paneriai Forest. With the good weather we continued to Kaunas to see many of its churches, the little fortress walking around most of the time. When we finally got to Trakai Castle I learnt about the way of defending the different parts of the castle, how the islands were connected by bridges and what else to do in Trakai. I highly recommend this tour.
Left exactly at 11, back right at 3 pm, time for our English tour of the Catacombs at the Vilnius Cathedral. Trip out into the country was used by our guide to give us a great compact history of Trakai and it's peoples. Just the right amount of time for a visit to the castle, a boat ride on the lake around the castle, and a walk through the quaint town. You won't be disappointed.
We were collected on time from our hotel. Given a personal tour around Trakai castle. As well as an interesting and thought provoking tour of the Paneriari memorial. We could have done with a little more time in trakai to explore and will definitely go back one day. However we felt the tour offered good value and well worth going.
We were just 2 tourists booked for this tour since it was lean season. I was expecting that they might cancel but luckily for us, they pushed tru it. Communication via email was easy. Our guide Andre gave us quite an info about Lithuania. We are looking forward of going back to Vilnius and avail of their daytous in the future.
I went to Trakai Castle and the Paneriai Memorial Park on 11th September 2017. It was a great tour with nice people and a very great tour guide. It was very interesting to know more about Lithuanian history! Moreover, the Trakai Castle itself is a wonderful place to go. Briefly summarized: It was amazing!
