Full description
Visit Samuele at his fish store in the middle of the market for a 20-minute introduction to the Venetian fishing industry. Discover the history, particularities, and use in the local cuisine of Venetian fish and seafood, such as prawns, crabs, seabass, swordfish, and many other types. You'll also learn about the fishing industry and the history of this market.

The fishermen of Rialto, including Samuele, spend the night fishing. In the early morning around 6:00 AM, they head to the market in Rialto where Venetians come every morning to buy fresh and seasonal food. This market, opened in 1200 AC, is one of the biggest in all of Europe.  

Samuele will also generously share with you some local recipes using delicious Venetian fish. Take these recipes and suggestions home with you to add some Venetian freshness to your cooking. Enjoy a discount at Samuele’s store at the end of the experience.
